My anime appreciation leans toward Akira, Paranoia Agent, and almost all from Miyazaki. Even Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop. Otherwise, I'm with Joe and lost at the mention of Sailor Moon and the like. Have you seen Project A-ko? It's a wonderful parody of anime of its time (1980s). Perhaps you and Joe can delight in its silliness, and you can test yourself on how many styles and culture cues are being parodied.

Don't be mad Joe. He'll I'm clueless with most animes like my roommate in college was a big anime fan and I watched it with him sometimes when I got back from wrestling practice or class like One Piece, Naruto, etc. But I'm a big Game of Thrones fan and recently American Gods and Sense8. As well as anything Marvel and DC.

Thank you, Daniel. I agree with a lot on these classic anime movies. But just like how I dislike watching Star Wars marathon with Joe, I wouldn't want to force him to watch Anime with me. Besides, these days, I watch much much less due to the work. But I'll definitely check out Project A-ko, sounds interesting. XD

My knowledge of anime stops after Battle of the Planets from the 70s. It was a great TV cartoon, but not as good as the 10 minute short from Futurama that copied the style and actually used the original music. Check it out Song. 😘🇨🇦

I knew a bit of the story just by researching the old gods in the show like Odin (Mr. Wednesday) Biliquist (beautiful black woman who has and interesting way with her customers and she's the Goddess of love and Queen of Sheba). I love the show and wanna read the book

Thank you. I did watched the movie. While my inner kid really enjoyed the movie, I have to say the movie is too short to tell this story. In other words, for people who didn't know Saint seins, they will not enjoy much. XD XD

I am closer to Joe, clueless with Anime, but Star Wars alienated me after The Phantom Menace. Hopefully Joe does sit and watch the occasional episode with you, just like you watch the occasional Star Wars movie with him, even if you both decide that marathons would stretch the bounds of compromise.
