I've added hair along the back, fixed a couple things, redid the tail hole a bit, added a tongue and started working on face controls.
I find this method, while using a lot of bones, is the best way to get very precise control over how the eyelids move across the eyeballs (each bone controls one vertex, and they shrink wrap to an eye proxy mesh so they always stay above the eyeball)
Also, the teeth/fangs are missing for now- but that'll be added tomorrow! About the hair though:
I'm made the hair using nurbs curves, so it's not a particle system or anything like that. To get the hair to stay attached to the body, I used a mesh deform modifier. The hair proxy mesh (the wire frame around the hair) deforms with the body's skeleton. The tail was quite troublesome, but I got it working right after lining up the topology of the hair proxy with the tail bones.
So as I've said before, I want to do a short animation of him riding something- I thought a bathroom with cut out hole in the stall could be fun... and I think it would be a cool idea, but I'll save this one for another time I think- I'd like it to be like, as if someone was like, hanging onto a the door, recording it and they don't notice~ however, it might be a bit too ambitious for a like, short test animation...
Shout out to me a few years ago for modeling both regular toilets and urinal toilets and having them come in really handy in the future.
