(Female) Even though I had my brain kicked out of my head, I was fully aware that I could not let Ruby break out of my hold. If she did, it would be the end of me. So I tightened the leg choke with all my strength, hoping she would pass out before Nyx could get to me. But even then ...She fought back to her last breath, digging her nails into my thighs, trying to desperately sink her teeth into my flesh. I could not see her face, but I could hear her erratic breathing and feel her drool running down my calves.

(She pauses.)

(F) The problem was Nyx was already upon me. Getting on one knee, she lowered herself right in front of me, smelling of killer intent and a hint of Baram’s scent. ‘Let go.’ I heard her demand. ‘Let go!’ she commanded again, pulling my head up by the hair, exposing my face for her fist …
