Not long ago I was sent by the agency to intercept a deadly new weapon that had fallen into the hands of a dirty arms dealer named Magnus. The operation was compromised. My cover was blown. I suspect there is a mole in our team.

Before I knew it, my partner was dead and I barely escaped the same fate.

The water was cold. Dark. The water burned my skin. The ship, the Night Crawler, was burning in it as it broke apart and sunk.

Above me, through the billowing smoke I could see a helicopter swooping down toward me. Rescue.

Then I was thrown into a cell. The cell was cold. Dark. The light burned my skin.

Williams was there. He could probably tell you more. He asked questions. So many questions. Who? When? What? How? I knew all these things, but I told him none.

My name is Luna, and I was trained to keep secrets. Secrets that need to stay secret. For your sake. For my sake. This is how the world works.

Then came the Director.

They put a bag over my head but my feet were bare, so my feet remember. The elevator. The staircase. The ramp. The helicopter … again? No, a different one.

The helicopter takes into the air. The noise drowns everything. Almost everything. I hear women talking. They take the bag off my head.

Then I see her. My partner. My dead partner? Sleek in a black pant suit, raven hair catching air. That smirk that I hate. That smirk that I love. She points a gun at me and says …

“Missed me bitch?”

I strike.
