“Please come in.”

The Asian woman’s voice was silky and soft. Soothing. She sat on her heels in the middle of a candle lit room. Nude. Wispy trails of incense smoke swirled around her. Smiling the warmest smile, she gestured toward a deep blue massage mattress.

“Leave your burdens and your clothes at the entrance please. Where we are going … you won’t need those.”

Ruby stood at the threshold and blinked twice. ‘This is ridiculous’ she told herself and her feet shuffled in place. Eyes darting back and forth between the naked woman and the mattress as she wondered if the guys from the central office were pulling a prank on her.

She played the scene back in her mind: Any minute now, Josh from archives would leap out from a corner laughing like a goofball. Or maybe Debbie from logistics - drink in hand of course - would stumble out from behind that divider over there. Any minute now.

But nothing happened.

Ruby bit her lip feeling stupid and awkward, eyes drifting back toward the Asian woman who patiently sat there. Waiting. Smiling.

“My name is Kanon and I’m here to serve you.”

She said, promptly taking the deepest bow. Body extending forward. Forehead and bare nipples kissing the floor gently. Oiled skin glistening. Undeniably enticing. Ruby licked her lips.

She’d come this far and reminded herself that no one she knew would bait her in like this if they valued their own lives. So she took a deep breath, said to herself ‘Oh what the hell.’, and began stripping down in front of Kanon.

They were both playing with fire and one of them would get burned.
