I know you won't read this until you get back, Ollie, but I really hope that while in Iceland that you went right to the top of a mountain to get a beautiful view. Then, from the top of the mountain, carefully walked towards the edge in order to throw little things off. Not anything bigger than car parts, but maybe bottles and cutlery or whatever you found lying around. I hope you felt happier by listening to the sound they made as they found their way down to the bottom of the ravine... And there was no worry about adding to the litter in the ravine, because I think there is already a bit down there, because at least one other person in Iceland may have already done this every morning to remind herself how safe she felt living on the mountaintop with her partner. Maybe you even met her if it was the same mountain, because while she imagined what her body would sound like smashing against the rocks, it is strongly implied in the song that she wrote that she only wondered and, of course, I don't think you could actually hear that sound if you were POV falling down into the ravine, and whether your eyes were closed or opened would be immaterial.
