[PATRONS] That's right - the master of all things Napoleon Bonaparte and many other topics besides, J David Markham is here! We are absolutely indebted to David for coming on the show and talking to us - in a three part interview no less - about everything from his own career and experiences in the field of academia and scholarship, to the ins and outs of Napoleon the man, the legend, the enigma. It is, taken together, one of the greatest celebrations during Five Weeks To Run Wild, so I hope you'll give it a listen and let me know what you all thought. Remember to check out J David Markham and Cameron Reilly's podcast experience in Napoleon 101, where the idea for linking up with him first entered into my mind. It is still incredible to me that I managed to get him on the show - this guy was on the first conversational podcast I ever listened to, and on the second actual podcast to boot - but here he is! There's nobody I'd rather have more on WDF than a certain J David Markham, so I hope you'll listen to this part 1/3 and let us both know what you thought! A reminder that you can find David's Napoleonic dalliances by going to
http://napoleonbonapartepodcast.com/

In this first of three parts we talk through the following issues:   David's interest in history, his university experience, when he discovered podcasts - and how important he feels history podcasts now are to that discipline. Whether he'd ever thought about starting his own one podcast, and how the process for taking part in Napoleon 101 came about. Was Cameron Reilly a hard taskmaster, and did he imagine it would be so successful, or so ground-breaking for other podcasters. Does David ever miss that process today, and we conclude by asking a bit about his career, as an historian, academic, fan of medicine etc.

Remember history friends to celebrate the part by linking up with me on Twitter @wdfpodcast to share your thoughts on what goes on here!
