Hey guys! I'm back with part two of my latex Ghostbusters dress..

Using copydex to cover both sides of the zip, once dried- apply your latex glue both zip and latex. Carefully press the latex down the zip, working upwards.
*key factors, there's a line on every zip that's patterned differently, this acts as a guide to keep you straight!

Cut 1.5" latex strip and seal back of the zip.

Once you've installed sleeves it's now time to glue front to back together, use a cellotape roll to help stretch out curves.

I glued the collar inside the dress to fold out, seen in the picture.

Latex writing:

I used a small amount of copydex or any liquid latex and mixed it with acrylic paint. Don't mix too much liquid latex as the paint will peel off! Always test on a scrap piece first.

Before painting, use nail polish remover and wipe it on latex, this helps the paint to adhere.

Wipe any access off with your latex cleaner.

Same process for the ghost patch, I like to draw my design first with a gen pen.

To finish the dress off you need to reinforce the edge of your latex, the bottom will stretch the most, so glue a 1cm strip inside the dress.

Belt:

I cut two latex rectangles and glued them inside the belt, leaving one side loose so it flaps over, covering the metal so it's not pressed against the dress which may cause marks.

I hope you found this interesting! And helpful. Any questions? Drop them in the comments!

Thanks for sharing, your are really good at this. Any tips on creating patterns for someone starting out making latex clothing?

Make sure you have the basics down on dress making first, read books and watch youtube videos if you don't know them yet! When you have got that covered, try and adapt that to latex. Because there is a stretch you would need to calculate how much you need to take away. Example 0.40mm thickness generally takes 9% off your body measurements. It works for me
