Happy New Year! (Patreon)

They all fell asleep early lol.

Normally I try to make a big post every year to let everyone know what to expect from me but in 2023 I wasn't really in a position to do that. I had no idea how long it was going to take me to finish Eros & Psyche, TQ was preparing for a crowdfunder I would have little control over, and it was just very difficult to make plans. But this year I will have more wiggle room!

In 2023 I drew 128 new comic pages (44 TQ pages and 84 Eros & Psyche pages) plus I redrew the intro chapter to Eros & Psyche! I started keeping a planner to better manage my time. TQ made it through the crowdfunding process, printing, and shipping all in one year. I decided to bring TQ out of hiatus earlier than planned because I was just dying to work on it again.

So what are the plans for this year?

Eros & Psyche is nearing its conclusion. It has a few pages left before the end of the story, and then I'll make a little epilogue. There are some parts in the earlier chapters that still need edits but I'm going to be taking my time with them, not dropping everything to fix them up at once like I did with TQ. As I go I'll be compiling the posts into a collection here to make them easier to find.

Is Eros & Psyche getting printed?

I would like to at some point but due to circumstances I'd rather not get into here I am not interested in printing it with the avenues currently available to me. I will take my time and deal with it later. For now it will stay exclusive to Patreon.

My main goal in 2024 is to focus on Tigress Queen. I started releasing TQ online on Tapastic in January 2014. It's ten years old. And the only time in ten years I've ever committed to giving it my full attention was when I was editing it for print. I'm tired of updating the site with one page a week. The story is long and I want to get to the fun parts. So for 2024 my goal is to ramp up the pace with TQ and not start any more long term projects.

My second goal for 2024 is to make more short projects! I've made some comic shorts on here before and I'd like to make more of those. I want to do TQ side comics and fan comics I've had eating away at my brain and style tests for new stories and snippets from things I may never fully flesh out.

My third goal is more porn. I kinda knee-capped myself with Eros & Psyche because I was trying to stick to the original story beats as best I could. I want to go feral this year.

Some minor goals include reorganizing my Patreon (it's been a long time since I updated it). I need to clean things up and maybe reevaluate the tiers. I already had a couple that I was afraid of deleting since I didn't know what happened to the people subscribed to them but now I know deleting a tier only makes it so that new people can't subscribe to them. I also need to reorganize my discord server. Originally it was created because I wanted to delete disqus from my site for their horrible ads, but now Hiveworks has switched to Hyvor for comment systems and it's so much nicer. I'd still like to keep the space and make it more cozy. I do not intend to connect it with Patreon.

Anyway, be prepared to meet some new characters of mine and find out who my Fire Emblem Three Houses faves are.

Oh by the way! Hiveworks is finally getting around to contract renewals! You may have noticed other Hiveworks artists crossposting to Webtoon and Tapas. I will likely be crossposting to Webtoon at some point this year, it'll just take me some time to make adjustments to the comic. On that note, I will be changing the nature of my contract with Hiveworks as well in order to remove ads from my site. Back when I made the bath scene I had to go ask to see how much nudity I was allowed to include due to advertisers being present and I wasn't really happy with the answer I was given. I don't earn much from ads anyway so I don't see any reason to continue letting them bog my site down and censor me. I can't make promises on when the contract will change because I don't know yet but I will no longer need to shy away from drawing whatever the heck I please.

2024 is an election year in the US so I don't have confidence that it will be a happy year for anyone, but I wish you all the strength to handle whatever this year throws at you and I hope the good fortune outweighs the bad! Stay hydrated, get your sleep, get your sunlight, and set a limit on how much time you spend engaging with things that don't bring you joy or pay your bills. We got this!
