Hi fam!

4 more to go before the end of TOS 🥹!

We have another episode of Star Trek TOS today. Today's episode is The Way to Eden. I don't know what to think about this episode - so I will let you guys chime in! Is this one of the episodes you guys don't like? Because I have to admit, this was definitely not my favourite of this season 😂. I can't wait to read what you guys have to say!

Xoxo,

Terrible, terrible episode.

Ian Smith

The first version of the script (which was massively different, and featured McCoy's daughter) was written by D.C.Fontana. Her name doesn't appear in the episode credits because she so hated the final script that she demanded they use a pseudonym. This episode is so 1969! Deluded Space Hippies; jam sessions; sit in's; the search for utopia. It's laughably dated, and just plain silly. Nonetheless I kind of liked the sledgehammer lack of subtlety of the 'Adam and the forbidden fruit ' ending; and Charles Napier (Adam) wrote and performed his songs himself, for better or worse. Napier would go on to become one of the most familiar character actors from the 70s through to the 2000's, and had a prolific career - playing everything from despicable villains to stoic resolute heroes. He's perhaps best known as Hannibal Lector's most gruesome victim in The Silence of the Lambs.
