Hi fam,

We are back with another The Golden Girls reaction. Today, we are watching Dorothy's Prized Pupil. In this episode, Dorothy's student Mario, played by Mario Lopez, writes a beautiful essay that wins a prizes. Unfortunately, the essay catches the attention of immigration and Mario's immigration status is called into question. Elsewhere, Rose becomes Blanche's slave to make up for her "losing" Blanche's earrings. This episode was sooo good and so honest. Although I would have loved a happy ending, I was enjoyed the honesty of this episode.

Yet another one of my favorites. I’ve always loved Rose’s last line. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, Rose can be savage! I mean that wasn’t that brutal but it was satisfying. Can’t wait for you to see more 😂 Mario’s storyline is groundbreaking and it is SAD that almost 40 years later people are still ignorant and racist. This show is amazing.

Rose's line was so satisfying! 😂 She's so often the butt of the joke that it was amazing to see her push back a little! You are so right about Mario's storyline. It reminds us that as much as things have changed, they've stayed the same - which is unfortunate.
