Hi fam!

We have another episode of Star Trek TOS today. Today's episode is Is There in Truth No Beauty?. I feel like I'm repeating myself but Leonard Nimoy WAS AMAZING in this episode! His ability to portray different versions of Spock (or people inhabiting Spock) is awe-inspiring. That was well portrayed in this episode. I don't want to write too much about this one, I just want you guys to watch it and hear my thoughts at the end.

I can't wait to read what you guys think of this one!

Xoxo,

This is an odd episode! It was written by a librarian (Jean Lisette Aroeste),who wrote it in her spare time and posted it to the Star Trek production office without any prior experience of scriptwriting, nor any certainty that anyone would even read it. It's filled with ideas - but most aren't developed as much as they should. For instance, the subplot of the Enterprise being thrown to the edge of space COULD have been a standalone story in its own right! (ST:TNG later did just that storyline - and did something really creative with it). The interesting direction and music do their best to keep things together, imo. The character of Miranda was played by Diana Muldaur, (who isn't blind, btw) who previously appeared in Season Two's Return to Tomorrow. She was cast at the last minute when the original actress fell sick, but did a great job under the circumstances. You'll be seeing her again in TNG. :) n.b. Jean Lisette Aroeste wrote one more script for TOS (and never wrote anything else - she went back to being a librarian). Keep your eye out for this one , as her second story is in my Top 3 of favourite TOS episodes :D
