Thanks for voting in our June song poll - our winner is Summertime by George Gershwin, from the opera Porgy and Bess.  For each of our monthly song vote winners, I will teach a Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons, and then create a Patron-supported Play-Along to share on Youtube.  All Patrons will get access to the recorded Lesson once the Play-Along is published. 

I love Summertime - this song is a classic both melodically and lyrically (Summertime, and the livin' is easy).  Also, because it's slow and bluesy, it works well as a teaching song for introducing jazz chords. I will teach a beginner-friendly version and also include more challenging jazz chords for intermediate players.

Next Thurs 6/21, I will teach Summertime in this month's Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons and post a chord chart for $3+ Patrons. The Chord Chart and Live Lesson recording will be made available to all Patrons once the Play-Along is posted.
