Special Workshop: Hawaiian Uke Performance Intensive (Patreon)

This summer I'm offering a special four-week Hawaiian Performance Intensive Workshop, where local (SF/Bay Area) participants will have the opportunity to perform 2 Hawaiian songs on stage with hula dancers at a big outdoor uke concert called Uke-splosion.  See the video above to get a sense of what the event and performance will be like.

More about the HAWAIIAN UKE PERFORMANCE INTENSIVE 

We will work on 2 Hawaiian songs, Pua Mana and Lei Nani, to accompany the hula dancers from Halau Ha'a Kea o Kinohi.  We’ll focus on group vocals, understanding the songs, and delivering a polished performance. 

In this four-session plus performance intensive you will:

• improve your performance skills, ukulele skills, as well as your singing+playing skills
• learn 2 Hawaiian songs on uke, arranged by Cynthia Lin especially for this show
• understand the meaning of these songs, plus learn pronunciation and work on vocals
• accompany hula performers on stage at Ukesplosion as part of an uke group
• meet other enthusiastic ukulele players in our community

We'll stream this live with the Aloha Uke Squad, my intermediate students' performance group here in San Francisco, and other strummers too. Our in-person class is limited to 30 spots, so please purchase your spot soon if you wish to join. 

LIVESTREAM CLASS SCHEDULE:

• Time: Tuesday evenings 7pm - 8:30pm PST
• Date: 6/12, 6/19, 6/26, 7/10

About Uke-splosion:

Uke-splosion is a free, family-friendly community event hosted by Cynthia and Ukulenny as part of Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. Last year, over 500 people attended, enjoying a day of Bay Area aloha, including ukulele performances and jamming, hula performances, a free uke lesson for newbies, a photobooth, and more. Bring a blanket & chairs, it's picnic-style, come early for a great spot!

Am I the right level for the Hawaiian Uke Performance Intensive?Advanced beginners and up are welcome, and Cynthia will offer more challenging variations for intermediate level players.  We'll go over the strums and techniques in a class-style format.  Beyond learning ukulele, Cynthia will focus on performance tips and group vocal sound.
