Aloha Patrons!

Welcome to our monthly vote!  If you're new to Patreon, please see instructions below for voting.  (also, if you're new, join our secret facebook group!  email patronhelp@cynthialin.com with your facebook email address and we'll add you - and see Community Notes at the bottom of this post for more ways to connect)

Thanks to everyone who joined me yesterday for the second installment of my Instagram Live Mini-Concert Series.  Watch on my Instagram (@cynthialinmusic), we played games and I got to play a few of my soprano ukes.  Tune in again next Wednesday, 5 songs @ 5pm Pacific Time!

How the Song of the Month works

If you're new, here's the TL;DR version of what happens with the Song of the Month:

1. All Patrons vote!  (in this post!  see the song options below!)

2. I create a Chord Chart ($3+ Patrons) and teach a Live Lesson ($5+ Patrons)

3. I produce a Play-Along video (check out the new Happy Play-Along) and release it on YouTube

4. Upon YouTube release, chord chart is made available to the public via Gumroad, and all Patrons receive access to the recorded hour-long Live Lesson

Recent Play-Alongs:

THANK YOU PATRONS!  You are directly supporting the creation of these higher production Play-Along videos.  I'm learning and growing by working alongside a professional video and sound team, and they save me time so I can focus on more music and arrangements!

About this month's vote - Motown and classic soul

I'm excited to shake things up a bit with new song choices - it's refreshing for me to explore a new genre of music.  We'll be playing some of these songs in today's Beginner Live Jam using Ukulenny's Motown Jam Packet.

If you're not familiar with these songs - I encourage everyone to stay open to new music - look up these songs and see if you like them!  These are all hit songs that will be great fun to play. :)  You can always choose Cynthia's choice to give your voting power to me, and I'll pick the song I most want to do. :)

This month, for your write-in vote, give me something refreshing - with a soul twist if possible, and more recent song suggestions always welcome.  We need some new songs in our mix. :)

Voting closes Mon 8/13 at 11:59PM Pacific Time. I’ll announce the winner and post the chord chart before the Live Lesson on Thurs 8/16.

Thank you, and happy voting!

xo cynthia.

Just to be an annoying stickler, Aretha was not a Motown artist. She's from Detroit, the original home of Motown, but was never signed to them. But I agree, it would be awesome to choose from Aretha Franklin songs in our next tutorial.

I would love to see something completely different such as Round Midnight by T. Monk or Canadian Sunset--both instrumentals.
