Aloha Patrons!

First, a quick reminder to check in on this month's vote which closes tonight at midnight. Be sure to upvote other people's song requests because those votes count!

Here's a new Ukulele Play-Along video for Somewhere Over the Rainbow in the key of G. I released this video on YouTube last month, but just realized I didn't share it here, so here it is!

Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_66szY0rQ4

I created this arrangement in the key of G because it's much easier to sing for most people. It is a little bit harder to play than the Iz version in C, but if you already know that version, adapting to this version should be a fun challenge. You can download the chord chart attached to this post and play along.

This video features the Aloha Uke Squad, my local students' community service performance group, at our huge Summer Ukesplosion event in July. We also performed two Hawaiian songs, which was part of the Hawaiian Intensive Workshop that several Patrons participated in virtually.

Happy weekend, all! Enjoy!

It might be a *little* harder to play (some barred and tightly-packed chords) but I'm finding if you extend it out to include a take on the 'what a wonderful world' parts, those are actually a little easier in G.

Very nice! What happened with the guy on the far left? Looked like he had a very loose string or two.

Could be a combination of a bass uke with some resonance effects with the camera's frame rate. You can see some weird stuff happening when frequencies line up -- see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YGQmV3NxMI
