Aloha Patrons!

Happy December to you, and a warm welcome for all the new Patrons!  If you are a new Patron, please introduce yourself in the comments below.  Feel free to share how long you've been playing, what kind of uke you play, if you have an uke club to play with, what songs you've been working on.  And if you've been a Patron for a while and want to share, please go ahead.  This is a good place for your questions too - fellow Patrons, feel free to help me answer any newbie questions.

A note for newbies - I know Patreon can be a bit hard to navigate.  Please be patient and explore, and see the Community Notes at the bottom of this post for more info on joining our communities, especially our secret Facebook group which is the best place to get help.

Wavell George Cole

I have an unfortunate slight tremor in both my hands. I find that at times this tremor makes it hard to select a chord and the right hand has an occasional problem selecting a string when fingerpicking. I carry on however. Have you any suggestions on how I may be able to cope with this with ease? Thanks.

Staria

Hi I’m Lorena. Just joined you Patreon last month. I got an ukulele 3 years ago as a gift but only now have been really getting into it. I used to play guitar and bass when I was a teenager, so I’m super excited about getting back into learning music. I have been practicing a month. I have a Kala Waterman.

Debbie Smith

Hi, just joined today. Started playing a month ago. I would’ve never kept at this if I hadn’t found your tutorials. Have an Inncen.

Rosemary K.

Joined a few weeks ago. Have had the Uke since late October. I've enjoyed your lessons tremendously. I haven't yet gotten to the fingerpicking lesson. I've started the chucking strum lesson but that is coming much more slowly :) I have a concert uke, Appartist, a gift from dear hubby. He also gifted himself and is just getting started. He has some string and folk experience. I am a total newbie to a stringed musical instrument.

Cynthia Lin

hi wavell! my instinct is just to play slower and press more firmly with each finger and build strength through the fingers. hope that helps!

Heather Hertzel

Hello! New patron here, just saying hi! I've had my ukulele for several months, and really love your videos - they've been so helpful in getting me started. My uke, my boyfriend and I just moved to Portland, and I'm excited to also call the west coast home!

Cynthia Lin

welcome heather! come to seattle next weekend for my holiday jam! there are some other portland folks coming :) <a href="http://cynthialin.com/events" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://cynthialin.com/events</a>

Daphne Costantini

Hi, I just joined a few weeks ago. I am travelling around the world on a boat with my family (www. altitudezero.org) which gives me lots of time to practice but little access to a teacher. I started Ukulele almost 2 years ago using Cynthia's beginner series. I would practice during my night watches during our 33-day passage of the Pacific. I am still practicing daily, really enjoying the process of learning music and singing too. Cynthia, I love your arrangements and tutorials! Keep up the good work!!

Shelley Rubzow

Hi Daphne’ I also sail on the west coast. I lived on my boat all last summer in the PNW and practiced my ukulele with Cynthia’s fun videos. My husband is going to crew on a sister ship to our boat in March from puerto Vallarta to marquesas. I will check our your site. What uke do you play? I have a blue Malkala Dolphin but have Cynthia’s Signature Ohana on order. Been waiting for 2 months now and can’t wait to play it :-)

Bruce Birr

Hello my name is Bruce and I am a new patron. I have been playing 3 to 4 months and during my 70 years I played trombone for 6 months about 60 years ago. I felt that retirement was a time to try new things and to push my limits. I find your you tube inspiring. I downloaded the holiday music and ordered your CD. I do not begin to play any way near your level on the CD and your singing and voice are .... I guess I don’t have the words to describe the quality. Thank you

Daphne Costantini

Good to meet a fellow sailor. We are currently in NZ. You should join your hubby in Marquesas, they are so friendly, and making nice Uke's too! I play on a Kala.

Tiffany Ramsey

Hi! I just purchased my first ukulele and cannot thank you enough for all your FANTASTIC videos on youtube. My little Kala mahogany tenor sounds great with your help:) Can't wait to participate in a live jam!
