Something that makes the advice show actually unique and impactful for me is the fact I’m not hearing it from someone who deems themselves a “professional.” There is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking professional advice but for me personally I often feel resistant to it. The Yard boys are people I respect and laugh at on a weekly basis so hearing them breakdown scenarios that I relate to is easier to swallow. The advice they bring is never some profound concept that I could never reach on my own. The most helpful advice I hear from them is just the simple multiple perspective analysis of a situation that I just never considered. As opposed to a monotonous lecture of platitudes. Thats what makes this so special for me. I have genuinely used so much of the advice in my relationships and work. I say all of this just because I hope they do not feel some heavy burden to provide complex and fool proof advice. Just hearing the fan’s relatable stories while a third party takes time to thoughtfully break it down is already very helpful and I appreciate the time they give.

i don't know how often this happens to guys (i'd imagine less than it happens to girls because girls typically aren't the ones making the first move), but i remember guys in middle and high school telling me, my friends, and other girls they didn't find attractive that they had a crush on them and giggling about it like it was the funniest thing in the world. most of the women i've seen talk about this happening to them have said that it still impacts how they react to men asking them out, so i would not be shocked if that's what the third person is kind of referencing. it is genuinely so humiliating because it feels like they're stamping "ugly" on your forehead and it confirms pretty early on in your life that a lot of your value as a woman depends solely on your appearance. also! if you're a woman who's romantically or sexually inexperienced, you should be aware that some men will exploit that and treat you poorly because they think they can get away with it.
