New OC: Zanna (Patreon)

Something I've been cooking up for a while. Everyone meet Zanna, she's my first OC that isn't made from an existing property like Pokemon or Transformers. Midna was her main design inspiration with the coloured markings and the black and white skin tone, heliotropes from Wakfu as well. But I think it's still quite distinct.



Zanna is an alien and on her planet there are many stories of heroes from bygone ages. Some are just made up, some are embellished a bit, but others are provable facts. And one of these heroes was someone who had four magic rings attached to his wrists and ankles that allowed him to generate portals to jump through, reposition, sneak into enemy structures. It was very useful. Those four rings are kept safe in a holy site on her planet. Or at least they were, until Zanna got her sticky fingers on them. Zanna was always fascinated by these old relics, and it was quite obvious that this kind of stuff fetched a good price on the black market. She usually stuck to smaller things. A comb that experts thought was used by a hero or trinkets from their relatives. But this was Zanna's biggest heist yet. These artifacts were heavily guarded. But the great thing about this one, as soon as she got her hands on them she was gone, to any point in the world she wanted.

Here, alone, Zanna casually played with the artifact. Teleporting stuff around, messing with angles and looping portals and whatever else. The previous owner of this artifact was known as a very strict, responsible person who would never play around with these powerful objects, only ever using them when he had to out of a sense of responsibility to not give himself too much power. But the artifact's new owner was a lot more uncaring. And more importantly, a lot more creative. For when she was messing with the rings she discovered something fascinating. She could change the sizes of the entrance and exit portals separately. Through this, she could make one portal her size and the other one gigantic. Then, she could reach through and grab something, or even just step through and come out the other side as a giantess.

When she realized this, she became giddy with excitement. Thus started a planetwide rampage of Zanna taking, eating, stomping, and doing whatever she wanted. Larger than any city, nobody could resist her. Eventually, she even outgrew her home planet, used her portals to travel to other worlds and even other dimensions. She even found an alternate universe version of earth, where she discovered that humans were her favourite playthings. That earth is now Zanna's personal playground, as she's taken over the entire world. And everyone there worships her.



I'm really excited to make more art of her and expand on her story. And I now have a character that I can do portal-related size stuff with. I hope the rest of you are excited as well, this is my first try at a completely original OC that's not a fan character of some other big franchise, so I hope you all like her.  Also, the second image is the iterations her design went through as I made her. I even considered crystal horns early on but that never made it in.
