Concerning the marks, I think one thing Muichiro and Mitsuri are forgetting is that they both thought of Tanjiro right before manifesting their marks. Muichiro started to accept his death in that water prison when an illusion of Tanjiro appeared, asking "what makes you think that?" And encouraging him not to give up. And when the kid breathed air into the chamber, he remembered that the real Tanjiro said "whatever you do for others comes around to help you in the end". Which is something his father once told him; and that triggered all his memories to come back which caused the mark to appear. And then Mitsuri empowered herself by thinking of all the people who loved her just the way she is, with the last memory being of Tanjiro shouting out "she's our ray of hope!" Which meant a lot to her. That's when she clutched her sword and started fighting again, and then the mark appeared less than 30 seconds later. So I think if the mark appears due to those who resonate with the first bearer of the mark, Tanjiro is the catalyst. I could be wrong but that's what I think! Like, the only 2 hashira to manifest the mark are those who fought with Tanjiro. I don't think it's random

Also, I agree if they don't have the Wind and Snake Hashira report what they saw with the Infinity Castle that's gonna be a plot hole. Even with no one knowing what it is, it doesn't make sense to show it and then not address it at some point this season. But, it's only episode 1 so we'll see
