I actually really enjoyed this story. I watched several interviews with the cast and director. Lee Daniels and Andra are people of faith. The prayer and tongues was spontaneous by Andra, it wasn't scripted. The camera man asked if they should cut but Lee said keep rolling and put it in the movie cuz he said if thats what the spirit wants then we'll listen. Also, he had heard the stories of the exorcist and other movies where shit happens on set so he had a minister on set and they started every film day with prayer for those who wanted to participate. I thought that was pretty fuckin cool!!!

I actually really love that. Cuz it’s a detail you would miss if you weren’t a person of faith either. Think about it. She basically just ‘got saved’ and she only knows so much when it comes to prayer. What to say, etc. but her faith was pure. Her faith was real this time. And the Father honored that. He saw her faith and sent the comforter, the Holy Spirit. She was praying heart fully but the Holy Spirit was praying intentionally. She didn’t know what exactly to say…but the Holy Spirit knew exactly what to say!! And that was when it was wraps. I got chills!!! Cuz that’s so accurate. When you don’t know what to pray? It’s Holy Spirit time lol
