Steven Warner

dredre8424

Been waiting on this one

Jaylen

PEAK DETECTED

slavicandsapphic

Im so excited to see their reaction to the intro specifically LMAOOO

Liam

I'm kinda surprised you're reacting to this since you didn't give the first one great ratings from what I remember. Hopefully you enjoy this one more

Zoe S

Intrigued about Mason Quinn's reaction lol😊 Loved the live tonight😊

Zoe S

Did anyone else have a jump scare watching the uncut version, one second everyone is whispering (so I'm leaning in to hear better what they're saying) then the film starts and they see the character and suddenly it's “hey!!! Starting out with this guy” 🤣🤣🤣 totally got me lol🤣🤣🤣

Nicholas Scala

The opening scene was 🔥

Cassandra

The answer at the beginning 😂😂😂😂

ct

I’m actually crying from your guys reaction 😭😭😭 Oak was fighting for his life, especially in that intro seen! I actually BUSTED out laughing. Y’all’s commentary made the movie 10x more entertaining. Mason Quinn’s “What a bump” took me OUT. Naomi ate that role for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Someone give her an Emmy nomination now! Though the ending made me sad. I really thought Skye was gonna beat that thing, the writers did her so dirty.

Keshonna Laniece

Naomi Scott is indeed talented asf. A lot of people know her (my fav role of hers) as jasmine from the live action Aladdin with Will smith. I recommend putting that one on the list as well if you guys haven’t seen it already. A lot of people enjoyed it but a lot of people didn’t as well so your reactions definitely may vary to that one. 🩷

Paul Yu

OMG Oak's reaction when the cop got hit by the car hahaha! I agree Oak - it's in your top 3 jump scares!🤣 I love how so many of the times you don't know what is real and what isn't - I was left wondering which events actually happened. 😕 Naomi Scott did such a great job acting in this movie, and she sang all the songs as well. Her character had such an uphill battle as well with her PTSD, addiction recovery and toxic mother. The effects of the demon was not amazing but still this was definitely a cut above the original. 🤘😁

Keshonna Laniece

If you want to listen to the full songs in the movie, they actually released the music under skye Riley’s name on music platforms.

Alanna Banana 🍌

I watched this movie twice in theatres. So good. The music, sound design, and cinematography were big stand outs for me.

Jaylen

if this makes oak throw up and pulling hair upsets yall this much i can NOT wait to see yall watch the substance 😭

Zoe S

Hi, found the film interesting, like everyone else i’m also kinda confused as to what was real and what wasn’t, I went back through the film and the last time i think Skye is seen wearing the outfit is around 34:00, it’s just after the photo shoot. Tanya, her mom and Joshua walk in and startle her then talk about a wardorbe issue due to the scar being visible, so it’s possible that that’s the last part that was real and the rest was all in her head but due to the demon thing taking over she doesn’t remember any further events leading to her being on stage.

Alexiani Gollarza

DD I missed your hats, specially the yellow one, good to see they're back. Random thoughts so sorry🤣🙈 can't wait to NOT see this movie because I don't like scary movie but see you're reactions while I hear the movie lol

Ari

Glad you guys enjoyed this more than the first! My interpretation is most of it is “real” up until the wellness center. So the scene of her dancers in her house to when she she exits the cacoon on stage are the demon fucking with her

Zoe S

It’s just before rehearsals so I’m wondering if that’s the day of the performance and they do the rehearsals (possibly ending on that outfit) then she goes into the dome thing on stage, so I’m thinking everything is in her head after that point until she kinda snaps out of it, the dome opens and suddenly it’s performance time infront of everyone 🤔 maybe, i don’t know but that’s what makes the most sense to me lol🤣

dredre8424

I think they made it look that way on purpose honestly never had a problem with it

vertebra

great reaction, guys!! it was my first watch too, i love it

Jake Austin

Naomi Scott is phenomenal!

Zoe S

I was also just thinking if there is a Smile 3 (looking on the internet it says possibly in production next year but nothing is yet confirmed) I wonder if the next person the demon takes over will be the mom as it said the demon likes when someone has had an emotional/ tragic past or vulnerability and it feels like her experiencing that happen to Skye would make her the ideal person for it

I'm Batman

Naomi crushed it, by far her best performance I've seen. She wasn't too good as Jasmine in Aladdin (but then again that movie was just a soulless cash grab) and was worse as Kimberly in the rebooted Power Rangers movie. Glad to see she's grown in talent though cause she was just so much better than the girl in the first movie. Just my opinion though. As for the movie itself, it was better in every single way compared to the first one. I'd give this a 5/5 And yeah I don't quite get what was real and what wasn't but I feel that was done on purpose, that doesn't impact my score negatively at all.

Steven Warner

I flinched so hard with that truck 😂

Jayden Donnelly

Doubt there is a third coming, the entity won.. all it has to do is traumatise someone and it did so to the thousands of people in the crowd. There’s legit no strategy to stop it now.

Zoe S

Ye , I wasn’t sure if there would be, I was just going off what it had said online, some websites said definitely happening, others said production was planned but nothing had been confirmed, although I wasn’t sure if they were real accounts or just something that has been made up (everything I looked at seemed to be insinuating that it was happening) I haven’t a clue whether it actually is or not

Jessie

I think Quinn may be closest here— i think this is mostly real but with stints of hallucinations and Skye is on autopilot during those. I think she still went through the full 7 days but large chunks were hallucinations. This was a first watch for me too and i was blown away by how good it was.

slavicandsapphic

Itd be fun if they did a sorta mass psychosis thing if they make a third one. Itd be going off the rails, i feel, but maybe having the POV of everyone from the outside would be cool.

slavicandsapphic

Mason was me when Tyler died like. Idk why but his death was so funny 😭 bro did allat to get hit by a fucking truck

Zoe S

Ye, could add a unique perspective to it, although might get a bit crazy if everyone is flipping out over each other, I also had a thought that it might depend on on whether the demon can split itself as to how many people it could inhibit, although there is the possibility it could be that since multiple people saw the death it has the ability to jump from person to person as an option if it encounters someone that was also there whilst in possession of someone else, could give someone who has been taken over a feeling of safety once it leaves them only to return at a later date

Steven Warner

What a wild movie holy fuck

Esmi

Great reaction guys! I fully agree with everyone, definitely an upgrade from the first, which I also enjoyed. I read a theory online that everything up to the meeting with Morris was probably real. Morris was probably a real person whose brother was infected, he felt bad for not believing/ saving his brother, which is why he tried learning everything he could about the “entity/demon” and consequently tried warning the next person down the chain until it led him to Skye. Since the demon is attached to Skye at that point, it becomes aware of Morris’ plan to try & save Skye with her “dying” & tries distracting her with the constant phone calls (Mom, CAA, PR team) during their meet up. Morris literally tells her what’s going on: the demon is almost done with her & it is manipulating her mind in ways she doesn’t even fully comprehend. He even tries to convince her to leave with him & get the “death” over with bc he doesn’t think she has any time left to spare. Now, whether that’s true or not, we don’t know. If there is a Smile 3, it would be interesting to see if Morris shows up. If he does, then we can assume he did try to save Skye, but failed the moment she ran away from the bar. I also agree with others that say the entity has Skye on autopilot throughout the latter half of the film leading to her performance on stage (it basically has her trapped in her own mind while it pilots her body leading up to the concert & only releases her of her hallucination when it needs her to pass on the trauma). Also, great observation Answer! The entity probably knows ppl are catching wind of these chain deaths & by getting Skye to do the deed in front of thousands of ppl, it’s basically shielding itself/ buying time from ppl who are actively searching for the next link in the chain. It could either infect them all at once (that would be wild lol) or pick one person from the crowd of thousands, therefore making Morris’ or anyone else’s job incredibly tedious. Anyways, sorry for the super long comment 😅, I just love this movie & thought it was a cool theory.

House Lamp

Always text, and don't use 35 plates got it thanks fellas hahaha

Megan Schnese

Great reaction! I always enjoy watching your horror reactions. Smile 2 was great. Looking forward to The Substance next!

JenVonLee

I heard you guys say during a live that Terrifier was on the list. There is absolutely no way Oak is making it through that without a puke bucket if THIS was anything to go by. I'd consider doing that one very carefully haha. Loved this movie, one of the best 'bloody' horrors of the year alongside The Substance and Abigail. Total powerhouse performance from Naomi who I'd never even heard of before this role. Talk about a horror debut. Thanks guys! This is my bread and butter.

Sofia W

Might sound odd, but I really appreciated seeing a character in media with trichotillomania. You never see it talked about. Been dealing with it myself for about a decade, and its just so so tough!

Brooke Chabala

Honestly this movie was so fire imo. It really just elevated everything from the first and the acting was great

ParkMinJeon

Tbh Quinn , the demon at the end looked the same as it did in the first movie. 🤷‍♀️ Why’d you expect it to look different this time around lol

Azmoz

Great movie! I liked the first one, but thought it was just decent. This one is actually a banger, it just kept building. Wild! Loved the reactions and the movie. It's a solid 4.5/5 for me. Love me a horror movie with a tragic ending, it's just refreshing.

Anthony Velasquez

I’m with Badd Medicine in that I thought the 1st movie was fine but this one was really good far exceeded its predecessor and I was very much wanted Naomi Scott character to survive sad it didn’t happen but nonetheless great movie

Marcio T

Best movie of the year! Oscar-worthy performance by Naomi Scott. I love everything about this movie.

Katie

He might do his first walk out with that reaction 😂

Bri

Wow!! Me and my sister just finished watching with y'all and that was amazing! I loved the cinematography, they did so many cool camera shots. Naomi Scott was great in this and I like how it played out, kept me guessing.

Bizzy

the endings to both of these movies were so bad, made the good parts not count for nothing for me by time it ended

Ivan Rasmussen

I was really enjoying this movie up until the end. Personally when you have no clue what was real or not, it makes certain parts feel pointless. It takes away from the stakes and the value of the time that you just watched. Like the mom death was my favorite moment, but then it's like....oh that never happened. But glad you liked it.
