you guys do so well with all the details - you're questioning stuff that flew past me the first time! You'll do great with this season with that attention to detail! Such a packed episode, however, that my 2 favorite details get lost in it: Tommy saying he's never alone, and us learning what that means as he's pondering life fireside; and Cyril. (I guess because they're references to beloved lost characters!)

I’ll never understand how this is the lowest rated season. Maybe because it went more political. Season 5 dialogue/story is absolutely fantastic. It fits perfect with the time period and the progression of Shelby Company Limited.

yea i think its because they strayed away from the streets and the charasmatic gangsters,causing all the drama and violence. They probably felt bored,to each is own i guess

Great episode and reaction! As a Brit I would recommend doing a bit of research into the political system and the parties around that time to help you understand what’s going on a bit better, like one of you mentioned. Also Tommy is a member of parliament for his constituency, so he was speaking in the House of Commons, not the House of Lords. The House of Lords is a different chamber. Can’t wait for the next reactions, this is a phenomenal season. Happy New Year!

This is one of the pleasures of rewatching things. I dont think i caught that my first time watching season 5. I only saw s5 once way back when it released. Cyril is best boy!

Steven Knight always takes nuggets of history and then uses them to tell a story. Events in time characters and their parts in history are always true but the story is fictional. Oswald Moseley was a real life political figure.

Jessie Eden was a real person too. I read somewhere her family was not happy with her portrayal, particularly going forward in the next two seasons.
