Jack, do you have Bal à Versailles by Jean Desprez? I follow some weirdo on TikTok who does videos about famous people’s signature scents. She said this one was Michael Jackson’s go-to. I looked at the notes and it seems right up your alley. I don’t recall you having mentioned it but perhaps I missed if you had. ❤️

Lauren

Damn, well, I guess I missed one!

Listening and learning

Lance Audette

Eating lasagna on a Sunday afternoon at an Edmonton strip club, throwing loonies at the coned poster held between her legs, listening to Into the Void the day after a Queens of the Stone Age concert 👌🏻

Great show what’s crazy is Los Angeles radio in the 70’s KLOS KMET absolutely would not play a single Sabbath song we had to find all these records through word of mouth

Gotta give a shout-out to “Supernaut,” the greatest small-band rock performance ever recorded. Otherwise this was a truly delightful & informative deep dive that’s got me excited to explore the later catalog. Plus, No. 88 must the most exciting fragrance I’ve heard about in ages (already on the Xmas list).

AB

Fingers crossed that you’ll revisit Priest in a similar fashion in the future. I’ve long been convinced that Grindr was named after the JP song!

Another great episode! I loved Jack's Sabbath enthusiasm, that level of genuine love for music is refreshing, too. This was also a nice romp through 80s metal since Sabbath was so influential to many bands. ❤️

I remember going all over the state looking for their albums. This was before cell phones so I'd try to find a phone book that wasn't torn up or just drive up and down side streets looking for record shops, pawn shops, and thrift stores. I still remember the high of finding a Never Say Die followed by the low of listening to it.

So good If you dig Sabbath, you might also like Blackwater Holylight 🤘
