Laughed so hard at the ending. Incredible episode with an incredible guest!! A new favorite episode

Jayne Meryl

I absolutely love your show, this episode, and I love Cara Cunningham. This episode made me revive my love for Bath & Body Works. Would love another Bath & Body episode!! 💕

Lauren

I ordered this produce box that came over the weekend. It had something called a Picasso Melon in it, which is apparently a new melon cultivar. It was essentially the edible version of Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon. So, if you ever dreamed of eating this fragrance, I highly recommend looking for a Picasso Melon. It was divine. I’ve listened to the Jack/Red Scare episode twice now. Instant classic and the highlight of my week! 🥰❤️

Erin

Same! There was this melon I grew earlier in the summer that was suppose to be a honeydew/cantaloupe hybrid called an acana melon. Yellow skin with green meat. Definite notes of cucumber it had! I'm re-listening to Jack on Red Scare again as well so good 🍈❤️

When I worked at GQ, we all watched Cara on YouTube and just loved her. Great conversation, absolutely loved her as a guest here.

Sash

Really love the crying and drunk episodes, I love spinning out myself

Sash

Love thinking of CC reading Paglia///BTW slowly realizing how crucial and legendary this convo is becoming as I listen

Avalon W-K

I’ve been waiting for this ep to happen!! 💝

Cara Cunningham

I’m scared to re-listen 😭🫶 I hope I wasn’t too incoherent

Just subscribed. Loved House on the Edge of the Park / New York Ripper and Marlene Dietrich episodes. How about an episode with Crazy Nights, the 1978 Amanda Lear hosted sex mondo directed by Joe D'Amato? One of my all-time favourites. Full Moon is distributing it in US at least on blu-ray, maybe streaming too.

Dale Bonilla

Now I feel compelled to revisit that CC x Maverick Men video.

Melly

This feels really big. First the long awaited red scare episode now this!! Damn Jack.

Wish I had a transcript of the discussion about alcohol, I want to screenshot and send to my fellow alcohol lovers. Some A+ commentary on the joys of being drunk.

God bless America

O

So sweet. Has me crying at my desk at my dumb email job 🥲♥️

I subscribed because I loved the Red Scare episode so much (listened twice) and now so happy Cara is a guest today. Wow. I love her on Dial Dan, my favorite podcast. Please invite Dan soon 💚

Wow, just listening to this episode made me feel drunk by proxy 🫠 intoxicating

Nick

the Sheryl Crow got me high as hell, beautiful inspiring ep

Scout Dixon West

I’m brimming with joy and hope and love

Great episode but as I was listening to I drove by the Burger King I hung out at as a teenager and it had retained most of its late 90s early 2000s charm but it was closed and getting a full neo liberal make over.

Those of us blessed with frizzy curls still do the mousse thing and I truly believe it will come back when girls finally tire of ironing the life out of their hair (and then putting volume back in with the dreaded "sausage curls"...). It will be softer this time though, as the current way is to "scrunch out the crunch" when it's dry.

Had never considered Chris Crocker as part of the “white trash whore with a heart of gold” genre, but it all makes sense now. Beautiful! Great and charming conversation.

CARA

"Like, just get drunk and order a bunch of shit that I recommend on fragrancenet"

CARA

Jack can see into all of our homes

Pat Maher

I can’t believe you made me watch that movie, but great episode

Nudnik

The Craigslist lore here is too relatable.

Can't overstate how timely this episode was for me. This weekend after church I got smashed at the eagle and was told by a burrocrat for the state of California to "go back to your white trash suburbs" when I told him I thought Trump was the greatest drag queen in American History. I drank more and got into a spirited debate surrounded by the holy flames of what appeared to be an anime intro dance sequence, and the more I drank the wider the wings of the archangel Kaworu grew behind me. I ended up alone on a bus stop bench laugh crying thankful I still had the ability to be messy and dance my stupid little dance, something even most of my "red pilled" friends seem to be afraid of. If you can't get drunk and ruin your own reputation you're a libtard. Doesnt matter what stupid arguments are in your brain or what podcasts you subscribe to on Patreon. The only penopticon to destroy is the one inside your own soul.

Jack, we need a book on Expensive Pussy Syndrome!!

It's crazy how we seem to be living in an era of new puritanism—love how you two called that out. Also, another spot-on intro song choice. I’m fascinated by how Sheryl Crow’s music has always so perfectly commented on the dark dis-ease underlying sunny California life. Brad Pitt's personna does this as well. Interesting that they are both from Missouri. Maybe it takes that no-bullshit Midwestern mind to see through it while at the same time becoming seduced by and ultimately embodying it.

Feenabobina

Just started & the nostalgia is hitting ♥️ Great intro song choice!

I love this podcast episode. I love this film. I want to listen all over again!! Cara, you’re my hero. Jack, you’re my hero. I have really come to desire hearing both of your perspectives on this crazy world.❤️
