🐍🌕🎽 Greetings, fellow adventurers. I am Azryth, a Dragonborn Ranger hailing from the verdant lands of Drakaris. Today, I share a tale of nature's most captivating creation: the Viperskin Mantle.

Deep within the heart of the sprawling Viridian Jungle lies a serpent species that has become legend among the tribes of the region. These serpents, known as the Greenfangs, possess scales of a vibrant, pure green - as vivid as the freshest spring leaves.

Once every ten summers, during the Green Night event, the Greenfangs perform a sacred ritual where they shed their scales in a synchronized dance, a spectacle that fills the jungle with a rhythmic pulse of life. Retrieving these discarded scales is a challenging feat, not only because the Greenfangs guard them fiercely, but also due to the inherent perils of the jungle itself.

Crafting the Viperskin Mantle is an ancient tradition, reserved for those who have an innate understanding of the jungle's heartbeat and the mysterious essence of the Greenfangs. The resulting mantle, woven from these vibrant scales, is a symbol of nature's raw power and elegance.

During my travels, witnessing a Viperskin Mantle ripple in the moonlight, reflecting the tales of danger and respect that the Viridian Jungle whispers, has been one of the most awe-inspiring sights. 🐍🌕🎽

Viperskin Mantle

Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

This mantle is crafted entirely from lustrous, emerald-green scales that seem almost draconic in nature. It drapes down to mid-calf, and the collar rises slightly, reminiscent of a hooded cobra preparing to strike.

Venomous Augmentation. While wearing the Viperskin Mantle, you add an additional 1d12 poison damage to any spell you cast that deals poison damage.

Serpent's Potency.

  • A creature immune to poison damage gains resistance instead when taking poison damage from your spells or attacks.
  • A creature resistant to poison damage loses its resistance when taking poison damage from your spells or attacks.
  • On a critical hit with a spell or attack, a creature that isn't resistant or immune to poison damage gains vulnerability to poison damage from your attacks or spells until the end of your next turn.
