When Yoongi produces for others it's not done in his "style". In their Weverse magazine interview for “Butter”, he answered some questions regarding him as a producer, he said, “I’m BTS’s SUGA, and I’m Agust D, and when I’m producing, I go by “by SUGA.” But when it comes to by SUGA, I make perfectly commercial music. I’m the producer for those songs, sure, but the owner is someone else, you know? In that case, they’re commissioning my work. But they wouldn’t think about just leaving it all with SUGA.“ He went on to add: "The artist’s label has to think carefully about whether to commission me for producing and consider my situation, too, and those people must be hoping for something commercial. That’s the most important part of working with outside people.“ On the benefits he gets for being a producer: “Actually, that kind of work isn’t much of a benefit to me, to be honest. Oh, he can write this kind of song, too. That’s all. The more valuable thing I can get from it is the recognition and records the artist or the company will get with the song instead.”

I have a separate playlist for kdrama osts and had to put every IU track there. I'm excited to see your reaction to Autumn Leaves, My Universe (SUGA's Remix), Over the Horizon (Samsung), You by OMI (prod by SUGA), Stay Alive (sung by JK for Chakho).. Because when you do, you wouldnt be surprised to hear this genre of production or any other genre for that matter when yall hear the range in his produced tracks. At this point, ARMY would look forward to his produced works and expect nothing less regardless of the genre because he nails every genre every single time. As what RM said before, SUGA is good at expressing the sentiment of the songs. In the fandom, he is called the Genius Producer and "The Hand of Midas' for making hit songs one after another. ARMY knows how exceptional he is as a producer but arguably I think he's still an underrated producer outside of the fandom.

IU I think is someone to definitely watch more of since she has such a powerful voice. Your 💯 right about her being the darling of South Korea everyone just knows she’s the queen over there and lot of people don’t think of her as a kpop artists actually which didn’t surprise me when I learned that. One of my fav recent songs from her is My Sea ☺️

I'm so glad you guys reacted to this one. So, yes Yoongi wrote his rap on this and produced this for IU. IU does these songs that encompas her age. Hence the name Eight- she released this for her 28th year. Some people thought this was a random collaboration, but many of us remember that IU and Suga are 'same age friends'. And both are in the 92liner idol chat group with other friends. Both are very passionate about their music, and both have complimented each other in the past- however we don't see much of their friendship other than the few times it's been mentioned that they are in the 92 liner chat group. IU wanted Yoongi to produce this- Yoongi was friends with Sulli, who was very close with IU (one of the reasons he became friends with Sulli is because IU and Sulli would hang out a lot and they had their own chat with their friends) Another reason was the topic at hand, it's something both IU and Yoongi feel strongly about - the mental health of Idols and how some vicious internet trolls take things too far, and some of these Idols get tired of it, and make one wrong choice to stop all that maliciousness. (Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hobi touch on this in UGH! as well) IU is a very talented woman and yes, she is Korea's Idol/Koreas darling. She's got the talent to back up those titles as she writes and produces as well. Thanks for the content drop.

This is a very personal song for both Yoongi and IU as for IU she has unfortunately lost 3 of her closest friends and now she reflects on herself and how she’s the one that’s left. The song is really good live and acoustic as well, along with Yoongi’s production

IU is known as the nation's voice for a reason since she’s been singing since she was a teenager like 13 I think or possibly earlier. I love her live vocals even more you should watch her killing voice it’s incredible and you can really see her range. I love how eight continues to show Yoongi's production skills in that he can do various genres. IU's voice is gorgeous (and so is she). If any of you like kdramas, I'd recommend Hotel del Luna, which she stars in!
