Sorry...didn't feel this song. BP lead me to my fave, BTS. That chant in the beginning feels like a creepy kid in a horror flick.

I swear. I really did not like this performance. I preferred the one on SBS. The graphics here sucked. The outfits were average. I am still unable to get behind this song

This wasn't their best performance I prefer the Pink venom performances that they did on MNET. Variety named this one of the worst performances of the night because of their obvious lip syncing, because and I quote "focused more on the dancing & looking good, then the actual music aspect of the performance" they. I wish they made the lipsyncing less obvious, these girls deserve better, I be trying to tell people that YG constantly sets them up smh

I don’t think they were lip syncing at all..backtrack was loud but you can hear them. The graphics was bad, the smoke was bad and Lisa was energetic during the performance but can’t say the same about the rest specially for Jennie. For western ppl maybe it’s good but for kpop stans I don’t think it was a good performance

No they were most definitely lip syncing in a lot of parts you can tell if you look closely enough,I agree they weren't as energetic as I would have liked lol & there were even a lot of Western people saying that the performance was underwhelming so it wasn't just Kpop fans

But the girls are clearly singing live with backing vocals, which is pretty normal in kpop. I think lowering the backtrack would have been more in their favor.

Honestly I’m not a blink but I check out BP songs once in awhile. After reading what variety said about the performance I checked it out and I can clearly hear them singing even Jennie’s voice was shaky in the beginning. Checked out MR removed that was recommended by a blink n yes they were singing live some parts they didn’t sing but to say they were mostly lipsyncing is not true. The thing I notice with BP is they don’t do that well performing in from of the gp but if it’s their own solo concert they seem to do better

I wish more of kpop act can perform in western music award..BTS set the standard so high on western n Asian live performances esp in awards shows..their team are the best..but I believe if they open the opportunity to the Asian act or kpop act they can create amazing performances that blow ppl mind..

Honestly, I found it was just dull. I liked BP when they first came out and was excited, but it's like they are sticking to the basics and not leaving this genre. It's never really explosive, I think that is why there was disappointment from many.

Mics were most definitely ON! I liked this performance it wasn't my favorite performance of this song even tho we haven't got many bc this is just the pre release, I feel like they were holding back for some reason 😩 Maybe nerves bc it's their first American award show performance, Lisa slayed tho💞😍 The Inkigayo is still my favorite performance so I definitely recommend checking that out as well, Im so proud of them tho🤧🖤💓

There was too much smoke and obviously you can’t expect much from the camerawork in the western award shows but my girls did good Jennie had a little mishap with the choreo and Lisa’s mic flicked away for a bit. To the ones saying that are saying they are lipsyncing 😐 you can clearly hear their actual voice they have a backtrack that was maybe a little too loud than it needed to be but you can clearly hear their voice over it. You can also hear the sound of the mic when Lisa was fixing it. My girls were nervous it was their first western award show but I think they did great I wish the outfits were a little a different the performance was a bit dark they went with classic black and pink outfits but I think they should’ve had something different to stand out more since the back up dancers were all in black. I think what most kpoppies feel is threatened by blackpink and are always trying to put the girls down or give them backhanded compliments. I got into Koop because of blackpink when they debuted specifically Lisa she had a unique charm that kind pulled you is aside from that my friend has introduced me to Big Bang and 2NE1 and also BTS which I had only seen the dope and save me music videos. I followed blackpink first and at the time of their debut is when big bang was the bigger group I remember that there video fantastic baby was the most viewed K-pop video with about 200+ million views aside from Gangnam style. So I resonated with black pink and Big Bang more at the time and yg is known for having phenomenal performances with performers who actually sing live unlike other companies that force their groups to lip sync either because they lack the talent or they don’t want to risk a bad performance. Blackpink have always been stable performers and even in some videos where they don’t have their best they still have their mics on. I think because they are the most popular girl group people like to discredit them or push other girl groups because they wishing for blackpinks down fall or want a group to beat them . They have a distinct style but not all of their songs sound the same so I don’t get why people say that I honestly think they just want to hate for no reason. The last comeback was literally Lovesick Girls which was different to kill this love. I think nowadays it’s hard to find actual performers in Kpop and not just dancers which is what 4th gen is looking like. I think a group that’s has been pretty good lately is itzy they have harder dance moves but they do have live vocals compared to aespa who have now surpassed itzy in popularity but they don’t perform well they lack stage presence and they don’t sing live ever the amount of videos of winter giggling or just stops lipsyncing is pretty unprofessional. I also don’t consider this a win for Kpop in my opinion especially the vmas who notoriously added the K-Pop category to separate BTS. I think it’s just going to be harder for Korean artists to be taken seriously and I think a lot of that comes with k-pop label which I don’t consider it a genre I consider it an industry. I think it should be dropped because when people hear the word k-pop they think of bubble gum candy kids bop songs and people who dance and have colored hair. When there’s more to that the label I think damages them which Teddy actually touched on as welll I recommend watching blackpinks light up the sky documentary on Netflix you can get a look at blackpinks life behind the scenes and how they work as well their relationship with teddy. Definitely recommend reacting to it would be nice to get your opinions and comments in it.

I don't know a lot about BlackPink but I've definitely seen them perform so much better than this and I'm disappointed since I feel like no other Kpop group would get away with a performance like this without really heavy criticism but it's still a step forward in kpop getting recognised so I can at least appreciate that

I agree that the hook could have been better. When I first heard the song I was hesitant if I really vibe with it or not. But after listening a couple more times I could tell it was something about the hook that wasn’t doing it for me, especially since I liked majority of the song. The “pink venom” part is fine but everything after for the hook needs fine tuning. How can you give us two monotone hooks then give us a edgy upbeat one at the end, it’s like playing tug of war to keep you interested. Nevertheless the song is good minus the hook and the performance was okay for me. I feel like the color scheme could’ve been different and the girls could’ve had better outfits like they do in their other Pink Venom performances. I don’t know if it was just me but I felt like they were too far back on stage so I wish they were closer to the front more but I could be wrong about the spacing.

I understand what you are saying for me its not even a problem of generation because in every generation they have good performers and some underwhelming performers once. I usually like blackpink's songs but i couldn't get through this performance because it was very bad ( in my opinion) and i knew people will use it as an opportunity to talk trash about kpop bands performance skills. I know they can perform better than this, but honestly speaking most of the time i prefer watching the mv's more than their live performances.

Their performances are usually a little underwhelming for me but, I didn't hate this performance I think they did pretty well considering the few mishaps they had but it happens to everyone lol as long as you keep going that’s all that matters. I don't stan Blackpink but I keep up with them and I can honestly say I've seen improvements from each of them but Rosé always stands out to me when it comes to performances! I just wish YG let her be more versatile with her style and vocals😩

Underwhelmed with this song and performance. Lisa is one of the best dancers but you can see she toned it down in this performance. Also them not rapping all the words in the rap parts is a bit disappointing imo

They didn't lip sync the whole thing but there definitely was lip syncing in the performance and if you try to deny that then your 100% biased, Lisa's mic went away from here mouth and the song was still playing with her vocals, also during the rapping part There was times when Jennie literally stopped moving her mouth & the vocals were still going on, also you can tell Jisoo was lip syncing some parts also, I'm pretty sure the only onr who was for sure Actually singing the entire performance was Rose, and even if the Variety person was a BTS fan that doesn't change the fact that they were lip syncing in SOME of the parts, and it also doesn't change the fact that this performance was underwhelming and very mid, their performance was the most anticipated of the night and it was disappointing I don't know what else to tell you, I prefer the Pink Venom performances that they did on MNET. It's perfectly okay to admit when something isn't giving.

The fandom wars are so crazy to me. Maybe cuz I'm an old lady haha That's what it is. I was so excited to see BP and SVT and BTS getting owrldwide props. I STAN only one group because that's actually a lot of work haha but I show love and support to any artist I enjoy. It's getting so cool and let's be real. Eastern artists are putting western artists to SHAME hahaha
