I hope it is over

The battle for Brightshore seems to be approaching it’s end with The Book’s reign now coming undone, but then again, there’s probably about 10 more pages after this one, so who knows what else to expect, other than a little Backstory explanation from Byland on just how did he even cross paths with this Book and so on with all that jazz. But other than that, it’s also cute and soothing that Byland is genuinely comforting Bernice in this very instance, as the two girls wonder together themselves, if this ordeal is finally over or not.

While I have no intention of speculating on where the story IS going from here (if for no other reason than I swear that Kobi delights in shattering the more specific narrative expectations of Brightshore's readers), I do think that the time for an exploration of the book's backstory has passed. At this point, an exposition dump of that kind would take the story's current momentum and bring it to a screeching halt. In fact, the only good reason to bring up the book again would either be as sequel bait or to introduce another plot twist into the story, and while I wouldn't rule either one out (the former actually seems incredibly likely, given what I at least perceive as Kobi's success with Brightshore), I just can't imagine wasting one or two pages on the tale of how Byland found the book when we still need to cover what happens to all our main girls (I know we saw them all regain their unbimbofied minds, but we still need to know what becomes of all five of them afterwards), minor characters like Sadie, Brett and Sara's mom, Byland and Bernice's relationship, and the island as a whole. Honestly, it feels like just covering all of that will already make this the longest chapter of Brightshore, and that's assuming there aren't any more surprises in store for us.

Something I thought of that would be great as a "Bright shore random" might be something like, during a full moon the waves change and during that time, Bright shore gets REAL bright/bimbo, heh

Everyone seems to keep the rocking bods. I consider this a win. Even if my bi side does miss Byland's handsome face a bit ;3

I mean, it probably wouldn’t hurt too much to learn on where this Book even came from, or how Byland even came into contact with it, because then again, Kobi did made the deliberate decision to showcase the backstory on how Bernice and Byland even came to meeting each other, which went on for six pages, and besides that, since this is probably the last chapter for Brightshore, there surely isn’t any much of a limit on how long this could even last for.

Your Servant is Your Master

The backstory of Byland and Bernice's initial encounter is actually a perfect illustration of why there's no reason to have a flashback detailing the book's origins or Byland's acquisition of it. Showing us the connection that Bernice and Byland shared was *necessary* for justifying their ability to reach one another through the book's influence and save each other from becoming completely overtaken by their individual mind bimbofications. We needed to know about their relationship in order to understand why the story could take the path that was chosen. In contrast, at the current point in the story, I'd argue that it would actually hurt the narrative flow to suddenly go on a tangent about the book's origins or how Byland acquired it. While I agree that it would have been interesting to learn these things, there's no longer any organic reason to bring up either subject (unless we get another plot twist that brings the book back into relevancy). The book has been defeated (as far as we know), so where it came from is no longer of any consequence. Similarly, Byland is no longer acting under the book's influence and she has paid the price for her actions - assuming you view her transformation as a punishment and not a reward for the readers (personally, I can't view it as anything other than a punishment because I think she looks awful, but I fully acknowledge that's just my own personal tastes), so how she acquired the book doesn't matter anymore either. I do think if there is ever a Brightshore sequel or Kobi decides to do a series of short spin-offs, then learning more about the book and how it came into Byland's possession could be excellent fodder for them, but barring some heretofore unknown complication giving this part of the backstory a purpose, bringing up any of these story beats now takes the plot in a new, unnecessary direction when it needs to focus on wrapping things up.

While you may argue that it isn’t needed to know about the Book’s origins right now, but i am kind of sure that magical, perverted books don’t just pop up out of nowhere, someone definitely must’ve created it for some kind of purpose, that is until they even realized themselves that it is too dangerous to be unleashed onto the world like that, until eventually Byland found out in some way, and got possessed to proceed with the Book’s self interested ambitions. But focusing on Bernice and Byland’s connection, that just leaves with the big problem, on simply just wondering on how that Bernice even managed to snap out of her trance by herself, because not even Chelsea could’ve done that, and The Book definitely made sure that she was just a ditzy, giggling doll now with the way the pink tint in her eyes retained from Pages 24 to Page 1, so either way, it feels like the twist and turn from Page 9 was just made so that the heroes could finally win this long ordeal, in which that just consequently makes The Book look very incompetent in comparison for that. Although, i do think that Bernice looks fine enough, especially when she was almost completed into Bibi
