It's episode 6 and we find out just what kind of lengths Rim will go to to keep Hae-Ryung from losing her job, and what kind of lengths they'll both go to to keep from getting in trouble for breaking curfew. ;) Also this week's teaser drops a bomb that blows our minds and has us dying to see the next episode asap!

So many feelings about this episode! Eunwoo and Sekyung play those first stages of crushing and mutual affection adorably, but I love how the show always layers in politics and history lessons with their romcom shenanigans. Also, without spoilers, I will say that some of the stuff you saw in the teaser for next the eps is potentially my favorite arc in the series. It’s so socially relevant today in a way I feel like the show could not have even known. And that’s all I will say!

There are so many compliments about how Eun Woo is a comic book character come to life. It is usually in reference to his looks, IQ and all his talents (acting, singing, dancing, sports etc). He is a comic book character come to life in this in a different way. We had the hearts in the eyes, we had eyes the size of dinner plates, the heart pumping out of the chest... He is soooo comical in this and you can just visualize the thought bubbles over his head! Historical tidbits: they sleep in so many layers because there is zip for insulation. They don't have thick tapestries hanging on the wall to block cold. The walls are litterally paper thin in most cases. No fireplaces at all, ever in any building/room, not even the palace. You have the small to medium sized floor braizers (think mini portable fire pit) that they use for heat in the super cold and those have to be right by the person like a space heater. That's why they have so many layers on and sleep in full clothing. Names: Surnames still carry by the males. The brothers children, even as cousins, would still carry the same surname. Same as US names. If you had a John Smith and a Dan Smith who are brothers, their children would also have the name Smith. One key difference is if the family only has a female, the male marrying in will usually take the females surname to continue the line unless the male is also the only male left. Usually in that case the marriage isn't going to happen. (This is if I remember my Ancient Civ correctly. I could be very wrong!) Examples: John and Susie Smith have a daughter . When Kim gets married to Gary Miller, Gary would change his surname to Smith since the Smith's only have the one child. John doesn't have any brother's who would have any children to carry the family name. It would end with John Smith if his daughter's spouse didn't take their name. In this story Yi is the family name and so illigitimate current king, Yi Tae, has the same surname as his brother the previous, legitimate king, Yi . The children of either one of the brothers, male or female, are going to have the surname Yi.
