We're kicking off our new k-pop reality/survival show with some awesome intro performances and lost of fan-boying! This first episode of Kingdom did not disappoint and we can't wait to see what's coming next.

I didn't realize it until now, Hwi Young from SF9 is also in Mermaid Prince: The Beginning with Moonbin. New Nickname: Felix of Stray kids is "Base Elf" Phrase uttered that had me dying of laughter, "That moment when your competition takes a flame thrower to the stage...."

I was personally invested in more of the RTK contestants, but BTOB alone is worth the price of admission for Kingdom ;) Important information to keep in mind going forwards: MNET fuckery was mnet fuckery and there were various scandals with the judging, voting etc. Most notably for this round coming up, each team was supposed to have a strict budget for their performance (and that should pay for set, props, effects, backup dancers, all of it): this budget was conveyed and enforced to only HALF THE TEAMS. So three teams basically got to spend thousands of dollars more than the others...and then the judges were not informed this had happened or told to calculate it in their rankings. Of course this is no fault of the teams, who did the best performance they could with what had been given them, but the fact of the matter is that the teams that ranked in the top half were the ones who blew the budget and the teams in the bottom half were on the limited budget. Just something to keep in mind!
