Angelina Sargent

I was exactly the same as you for this episode. It was really a Meh... episode for me mostly cause I didn't really like shannon the first time watching this show. But after a few rewatches I really felt like I kind of got where she's coming from... and this episode title "abandoned" just says it all. Shannon's entire adult life she's been just like screwed. Mainly from her step mom but she is given this lavish lifestyle by her dad and step mom... dad dies... (and actually he was the other car driver that Jack's wife had hit when she was paralyzed just fyi, the man that was killed when she flipped her car.) And her step mom was supposed to be the one to take care of her but didn't believe she deserved it. And then her bro shows up trying to be helpful and give her his own "trust fund money" and she starts to feel like he doesn't believe in her either. By the time she learns to fend for herself she is having to scam her brother for her own inheritance his mom cut her out of. I remember hearing that the writers wished they had given Shannon's character deeper story arcs after she filmed that scene with her and boone because that girl can really act in the emotional scenes. She is such a good actress.

Great points & totally agree with everything you stated. Especially after my 2nd watch this has become one of my favorites & it's also very emotional. She deserved so much better. Just glad she got to have those moments with Sayid. Although it was brief, it was incredible to watch his love for Shannon deepen in season 2.

I remembered what was coming a few minutes before it happened. Ready for the next one!

I totally forgot how Shannon died. I thought it happened much later. It surprised me a lot. She could get annoying, but I actually liked her tbh And I completely agree with the view of Ana shooting Shannon. I don't blame her at all rn Everyone would have done the same after what happened to them.
