The Garden of Forking Paths- First... Thank you so much for another fun reaction, Travis I really enjoyed watching this reaction from you as I always do! And of course, I enjoy this episode. It is a little slow, in my opinion. Especially the present day storyline involving Jacinda and her fight to save the garden. But overall... I do really like this episode! Now, where to begin?... I really love the moments shared between Wish Hook, Regina, and Henry from the flashbacks, as well as within the present day storyline. I just love the dynamics that have been formed between them as they work together to protect one another, to bring down Victoria Belfrey, to help Rogers find the missing girl, to help Henry, Jacinda, and Lucy, and to help Roni as well. With this being said... I love, love, love everything about them working together in both the past and in the present!!! :) Also... We are finally officially introduced to Princess Tiana, or Sabine... Tiana's cursed identity. And we see that Sabine is Jacinda's roommate. Tiana is absolutely from the Disney movie, The Princess and the Frog. A story that is a spin on the original fairy tale... The Frog Prince. I really love her character in both timelines. Princess Tiana and Sabine are both great, thanks to Mekia Cox who plays her! And I love that she is the leader of the resistance formed to overthrow Lady Tremaine and the corrupt royal family. It's a brilliant storyline for her! I feel that out of all the new characters added to Once Upon a Time this season, to me Tiana feels most like her character I know from her story. Maybe not so much in regards to her actual story from the Disney movie, but as far as her character goes. Because her character here in Once Upon a Time and in the Disney movie, are quite different. But this Tiana also has spunk and strength. As she does in her Disney movie. And the casting for this character is perfect for Tiana! Also... I've read the fairy tale and have seen other renditions of The Frog Prince too. Mekia Cox is definitely a good casting choice for her because she plays this role well. And this show is definitely very good at casting for the most part. Aside from a few characters I'm still unsure about at this point, which I won't get into for right now. After this episode... I've grown to like Jacinda slightly more than I initially did, but in my opinion, she's still not really that good of a character. The actress has gotten a little better, but I am still not a fan of hers. At least not as Cinderella. I don't like that she gives into Victoria by burning the petitions, although I understand her need to protect her daughter and to get her back. And I understand the idea behind the storyline and why her character is being developed this way. And Jacinda does make up for it by standing tall after all and giving Lucy the credit she deserves. I am proud of Jacinda for this. I really like her speech to encourage everyone to help her stand against Victoria and to help save the garden, which still is being reshaped with the purple Hyacinth flowers growing since Lucy's wish in the well. I won't ever like this actress as Cinderella. Especially not as much as I like Ashley from seasons one through six. I just can't see Dania Ramirez as Cinderella. But I have definitely accepted her now. And in the past storyline she grows stronger than she was once she has joined Princess Tiana in the resistance, and has accepted Regina's advice to become just Ella. However, I really hate that she sneaks out on her own to fall into Lady Tremaine's trap. Ugh... I just really don't like her in the moment between her and her stepmother. And yet I do somewhat find the storyline about Anastasia being an innocent interesting. And of course, Cinderella couldn't hurt Henry. But the fact she is almost willing kill another man who believes wholeheartedly in their fight against the evils of their world... It's absolutely still wrong. I absolutely love Regina's interference!! And I love how she tells Cinderella that it is never okay to hurt anyone, even for the greater good. Regina has come so far and it's wonderful!! And I love seeing her trying to help Cinderella learn the importance of forgiving herself. Because she knows. Regina has come so, so far throughout this incredible show!!! And I absolutely love her for her strength!!!! And it's thanks to Regina's influence that allows for Ella to return, rather than Cinderella. It's a good twist on the Disney movie. Although, I believe Ella is her real name in the Brothers Grim version of Cinderella too, because Cinderella was always supposed to be a cruel name given to her by her stepmother and stepsisters. The original animated Disney movie is the only rendition of Cinderella that does not ever make a point to show that Cinderella is a cruel name given to her by her Stepmother and stepsisters. As for Lucy... She is just like Henry used to be back in season one, when Henry kept putting himself in harm's way in order to try to prove the truth to Emma. I am not sure I really like this or not. Because I feel like the show's creators and writers are trying too hard at times to make Lucy too much like Henry, in a way that doesn't quite work. At least not for me. Because I don't feel like the creators and writers tried as hard with creating a whole new character with her own story, even if she is supposed to be like her father. Lucy certainly has conviction. And maybe the writers are trying so hard to make her like Henry was, in order to really sell that they are father and daughter. I just wish they gave Lucy a bit more of her own personality and character. And her jumping into the mine reminds me of Archie's centric episode back in season one, titled... That Still Small Voice, when Henry enters the mine then too. Just like Lucy tells Henry about from his book. I'm glad she brings this up. It is a nice callback to season one. I love the moment where Henry appears within the resistance camp with Regina and Wish Hook, and the introductions are made. Regina seems a little skeptical of Cinderella at first. And understandably so, seeing as she is the woman who has stolen her son's heart. And I love when Wish Hook introduces himself as Captain Hook again, and states that he's not quite Henry's father when Cinderella makes the assumption he is. So funny! :) As for Wish Realm Hook and Detective Rogers... I absolutely love, love, love seeing just how similar he is to Killian from seasons two through six, and yet they're also very different!!! He still talks like Killian by using similar words and phrases like "Aye, love" and "mate", and he's brave like Killian is. After all... He is still Captain Hook! However, he also has his own unique personality as well. A personality that is not the same as Killian. Rogers I think is more quiet and timid, while Killian is more openly confident and happy to make his presence known. At least when they're around people. We know from the past seasons that a lot of Hook's confidence is nothing more than the mask he wears to hide his insecurities and guilt when he's around people. I hope this makes sense. Rogers has this too, but his personality for the most part is still not as confident. He is absolutely more timid and quiet, especially around people. I also really how Rogers goes after the crooked politician, and that Weaver follows his partner. Of course, Weaver knows Rogers lied to him about what he was up to. Gold/Weaver always seems to know everything before everyone else does. And Weaver of course lets the politician go free. Ooo! Even if he's doing this with good reason, Weaver... Just as Gold always did, can make me so mad, and yet it's a wonderful thing! He's a character I still just love to hate, and hate to love!! And I do! Because Robert Carlyle is brilliant! In the end... We see as Henry somehow suddenly finds the graves belonging to his wife and daughter even though they weren't there before, showing us that this curse is working hard to fight back against our heroes' beliefs. And the look on Henry's face in this moment is devastating. We can see that he had started to believe in Lucy, only to have his heart shattered all over again upon seeing the supposed confirmation that they are truly dead as he once thought. So sad, but well done. And lastly... The final scene between Victoria and this unknown villainess is brilliant!! I really love this apparent witch!!! She's creepy and she already appears to be more powerful than Lady Tremaine, even though she is Lady Tremaine's prisoner. I was straightaway very intrigued by this woman's first introduction. And no... You are not meant to know who she is just yet. But you will. And she's amazing!! Thank you again so much, Travis! I can't wait for more reactions from you as always!! Sincerely, Heidi

Yeah Cinderella and Henry have no chemistry. If I am being honest the other girl Henry dated when he was a teen I didn't feel a connection with those two at all either. This season so far feels weird, maybe I am bias though.

Alicia Cue

lmao wish realm hook and tiana had more chemistry in a sideways glance and four exchanged words than henry and cinderella have had this entire season so far😂 also that villian witchy woman at the end, did somebody say WIG???

Marie-Soleil Dobie

I don’t love the casting for Cinderella.

There's a super quick set up joke for who Tiana is in the season premiere: she's offered frog legs at the ball and immediately is like "No." You mentioning how pretty she is every time she's onscreen is so valid, she is STUNNING.

Was it too hard to fake an accent for Tiana? It didn't even have to be Louisiana specific, it could have been a generic Southern accent. They made Cinderella Mexican, they could have at least made Tiana culturally appropriate. Still a better character than other eye candy side characters though...like Jasmine, Marian, Aurora, and Mulan. One question I have that I'm hoping is answered by the end is how is Rumple cursed? The implication is that only the people in the realm, or more specifically the resistance, were cursed and Rumple isn't there. I do miss Belle though!

Haha I totally feel the same about Henry and Jacinda! Idk. Seems strange. Excited for more 😁🫶🏼

watching both shows side by side... I now realize Tiana's actress is Nyla from the Rookie!
