The two people who requested those Lea songs, thank you. I'm so glad you got to hear them. She's never performed either song live, understandably. What she went through is unimaginable to most people. I agree that Hey You is better than If You Say So but both songs really move me. Celebrity deaths don't usually bother me much or get to me, but his really did. I was in school at the time and all us gleeks were so excited for season 5 and also so excited for Cory and Lea's wedding. We'd got the first filming pictures from the season and Lea was excitedly posting about her wedding a lot on social media. But we had no idea what was going on behind the scenes. They kept Cory's drug and alcohol issues out of the public because Cory was so worried about his career being ruined, it was his request that everything was kept a secret. So when the news broke that he'd passed away I don't think I've ever been so shocked. It really got to me. And because it was massive worldwide news, all the media went straight after Lea. The amazing Kate Hudson let Lea stay at her house for a few months until the craziness subdued but in that time whenever she'd show her face the paps were there trying to get photos of her crying. It was disgusting. And so she not only spent those months grieving and canceling all her wedding plans, but she had to hide away. She said that's why she went back to filming Glee so soon after it all happened, she just wanted to feel normal again. She said that going back to the show that Cory loved so much and being with all of the cast and crew helped her a lot and she doesn't think she would've been as strong as she was if it wasn't for Glee. She actually wrote Hey You while on the Glee set. I think she's really amazing and I'm so glad that she has a husband and a son now. 💕
