While King D'wamu may have been Viola's adoptive 'father', he was almost anything but. Preoccupied by his own obsessions, D'wamu would take the time to teach his daughter only what he thought was necessary, that being the facets of the Dark Side of the Force. However, there were still many things that our rogueish Princess needed to learn to survive the harsh life of a young woman in a dark, cruel kingdom where might made right.

Enter T'Ral, D'wamu's nephew and a venerated Massassi warrior.

While it was long ago decreed that only the King and his kin would be the only ones allowed to learn the ways of the Force, or how to handle kyber-powered weapons, T'ral made due with traditional bladed weapons of all kinds. Standing over 7 feet tall and rippled with muscle and scars earned from over two centuries of brutal tribal warrior life, T'ral was considered by many within Derriphan's Massassi tribes to be D'wamu's (distant) second in terms of pure prowess, and he had served as war band leader and General to D'wamu on many occasions in the decades leading up to Viola's adoption.

Taking on a more advisory role in D'wamu's court, T'ral took the Princess under his wing when she was still young and he would teach her everything that D'wamu's self-important Sith teachings didn't cover; from the basics of what to expect in a dangerous Galaxy as a young woman, up to how to take down an enemy three times her size with ease. And, yes, when she was old enough, he would recognize that if she was to be fully prepared, he would have to teach her about matters of sex - something that would have been gravely dangerous for Viola had anyone else in D'wamu's employ done so. 

Naturally, this didn't start as 'demonstrative', but over time the Princess' natural curiosity and overwhelming stubbornness would convince him that it was best if she experienced it in a protected environment that let her adjust and learn at her own speed. While this let Viola become confident with her body, T'ral's impressive stature and stoic patience would lead the Princess to develop a standard that few men could live up to. He was, after all, her first crush.
