Weekly Update - 10/16/24 (Patreon)

Less than 4 days before I (and a bunch of my friends I'm dragging with me) will be off to New Zealand. It's utterly crazy. I think I've done all the prep work that I need to do - there's still one thing unresolved that I'll take care of either tomorrow or the day after - but Saturday night, I'll be flying out of SFO across the Pacific Ocean. Basically, I skip Sunday, which is a crazy enough concept in and of itself. Like, I will never see 10/20/24 - it does not exist for me! The international date line is fucking wild. But the day I come back will also be the longest day I ever go through. Time is magic.

I dropped new Neon Stonehenge chapters (one for everyone and one for alphas), I'm going to drop the first QT: Selected Services for everyone today but there won't be a chapter for alphas. I am however, going to send the first draft of QT:SS2 to its commissioners today, as I'm finishing it now. The next two things after that are Morgana's Gift for Friday or Saturday, and QT:Unbroken Mold. I got the next chapter of A Pack Of His Own off to its commissioner over the weekend, and thank God it works, because it was a hell of a challenge for reasons I still don't understand, so that'll start up again here next month. I also got the query for the book I was asked to pitch sent off. I also still have to pack, but that'll only take a couple of hours, I'm sure. I typically travel light, and we'll be in AirBnBs almost the entire trip, so we can do laundry and things. Been a busy week!

During the trip, I'll still try and get some story drops out, but that may not happen depending on how busy we are on the trip, and what I do and don't get done during flight times. I will definitely do a news post with pictures both next Wednesday (although, do I post it on Thursday in NZ? Or do I post it on Wednesday in NZ and it shows up on Tuesday here? - fuck it, I'll make it work) and then again after I'm back, so people can see the beautiful sights I'm seeing. This will be my first time to the southern hemisphere since I was an infant, so I'm genuinely ecstatic to be heading out there to see it. Knowing me, I'll have loads of great pictures so I'll be happy to share those.

For years, myself and the real-life inspirations for the two Phils have been talking about going overseas on a trip together, and finally, this year, I just said, fine, I'll plan the damn thing, I'll organize the damn thing, and I'll book the damn thing. And that made the damn thing happen so well, a couple of other friends were like 'hey, can I get in on that?'

Maybe next year we'll do Australia, or I'll let Real Greater Phil give me a tour of Japan, a country he's spent so much time in over the last few years that he's joked about his home in California being the worst upkept AirBnB ever. I'm probably going to have to head back to Germany at some point next year as well, but we'll see. That one's always reliant on the plans of my friends over there, unless I just choose to pop in, which, hey, I have done before.

I'll be sure and get stories sent to the public sites tomorrow or Friday, and then I'll do it again at the midpoint of the trip, hopefully.

So, wild couple of weeks upcoming for me, quiet couple of weeks upcoming for you, but I hope to leave you all with some stuff to definitely enjoy.
