Man, I had such a head of steam on me, and then a DayJob problem sprung up and knocked most of a day out of me. No matter. Ever tried, ever failed. Try again, fail again, fail better. I've just about got next month's Pack off to the commissioner (will do that before I leave tonight) and then we'll see what moods I'm in when I get up tomorrow and start in on writing.

I'm off to see a band I've been listening to for a few years but never seen live called Dance With The Dead. They've got sort of an electronica/rock sound that blends in 80s horror film style synthesizers. They're playing at a venue we VERY rarely go to called The Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco, which was a TV studio at some point before it became a club. In fact, looking at my concert spreadsheet, the last time I was there was in 2010, and it was to see Biffy Clyro. (For my UK readers, yes, I saw Biffy Clyro in 2010 at a club that holds only 350 people, less than a month after they'd played Wembley in the UK. In fact, I ran into Simon Neil before the show and got my picture taken with him.) I'm excited about it! They have a ton of amazing shirts, and it's been a minute since I had a concert in the city. (In fact, it's been about two months, which is longer than I usually like to go between concerts, but I've been travelling - both on and off work - more this year than I'd anticipated.)

Dance with the Dead - Wolf Pack (feat. Gunship) [Official Music Video]

The very small amount of decompress time I've had over the last couple of days went to playing some of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which I can so far say I'm greatly enjoying. Spending three hours sneaking up and punching fascists? Great way to relax. And new minor patch dropped for Cyberpunk 2077, and I haven't had much time to go and poke around with that either.

I'll see how much I can output in the next ten days before I head back into cold, and maybe how much more I can get done while I'm on planes or in airports, although these are the most tightly close plane trips I've ever had, so if there's even the tiniest fumble, it's possible I'll get stuck in an airport heading back east (or heading back west on Christmas), considering I have about an hour between connections on each leg of the trip, which is ... yeah. Let's call it optimistic. I'm definitely going to load up the iPad with stuff to watch, just in case things get crazy and I get trapped in an airport. I already had to readjust my return trip plans because the airline thought me flying out in the late afternoon of Christmas would be the exact same as flying out Christmas morning, which, it absolutely wasn't. But there weren't that many flights going on Christmas this year, so I had limited options and am doing my best to ensure I get back home without too many hitches.

I also spent a bit of time chatting with my best friend (who is also my tattoo artist) discussing what my next one is going to be, and he's going to be putting it on me before the end of the year. It's going to be my most visible in your face one I've ever gotten (on my forearm) so I've been a little pickier about this one.

Public releases look like such for the next month: 12/14 - Captains' Day 2, QT2:i5; 12/21 - Before The Storm 12; 12/28 - Turn At Sin River 1; 1/4 - Neon Stonehenge 7; 1/11 - QT2:26.

I still need to get some back owed commissions done, but I think Friday will end up being Neon Stonehenge, if I can keep my head clear. I'll also put up a poll for the end of the year's post on the 27th. As it turns out, New Year's Eve is a release day this year, so I'm going to try and have a new Silversmith story up for it, but that's in the plans and certainly not confirmed. Also, I'm not to have story drop on Christmas Eve or a newspost on Christmas Day (although who knows - if I get stuck in an airport, I might drop a silly one from there or something).

And that's where we are. I'm working as best I can but as you've all stressed with me, quality over quantity. Still, we're getting back towards the more regular updates, and maybe January, everything will be back to a regular rhythm.

(Insert Spaceballs' "Sorry sir, I'm doing my best" meme here. ;) )
