Weekly News Update - 8/17/22 (Patreon)

Word of warning: This is being written a few days in advance, so if somebody blew up the world and nobody told me, well, I didn't know that was going to happen, so don't expect me to comment on it here. Those of you who are regulars to my discord or have been paying attention to previous news updates know that I'm probably somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean by the time you read this, on my way to Europe for a week or so. That means all this week's posts are already queued up and should drop on their regularly scheduled time.

I dropped the first chapter of The Devil's Details yesterday and moved QT: Phil's Tale 10 to 8/23 because packing and prep for the trip ate into my writing time some, although I'll have plenty of time in planes, trains and automobiles to get some writing done over the next week. Later this week, you'll get the first chapter of Quaranteam: McCallister's Madness, which will give you some insight into the twisted man responsible for the whole imprinting/bonding aspect of the Quaranteam serum. Those of you tier 3 and above will also get your profile of Moira, in addition to the vote on who you want a profile of next month. I know I was originally planning on it for next week's schedule, but I knocked it out during brief breaks from packing, so why wait, right?

I also have the special privilege of announcing something completely new. A few months back, a writer from LitErotica named Breakthebar reached out to me and said "Hey, I really love the QT universe. I'd like to play in your sandbox. Here's what I have to start with. Take a look." There was a big chunk of story text there that I really liked, but I had a handful of notes. (Some of it was just me having to commit to the early timeline in QT that everybody knows I'm already cleaning up with the remaster for the print edition.) All that said, I was totally open to the idea of someone else wanting to play around in the QT pool. A few days ago, I got back a whopper of a doc from him, and just like that, a Quaranteam spinoff was born.

On Saturday, I'll post a slice from that, but to get the larger story, you'll need to either go to Breakthebar's Patreon - http://patreon.com/BreaktheBar - or wait for it to drop over at Literotica. Not sure what his release schedule is, but the story's been very enjoyable for me to read. It's not my project, so I'm just an active, interested reader, like all of you, but he's got over 35k worth of words written so far, and he's just getting started with his tale. It'll be called Quaranteam: North West, it's set up in Portland, and it shows a very different side to the whole DuoHalo pandemic that I hope you all love as much as I do. His characters are from very different walks of life than mine.

The second chapter of the month for Brewster's Brood will drop  on 8/30 as well as the profile chosen for this month for and by the tier 3s and up. Remember, starting in September, we'll move to a once-a-month posting schedule for BB, but I'll be increasing the size of those drops a bit to make up for it, and Breakpoint will be starting on 9/6. I've already got the first few thousand words written, and believe you me, this is going to be quite the ride. Those of you who love universe building are going to have a field day with the first extra-large chapter. As a reminder, both Brewster's Brood and Breakpoint are Patreon exclusive stories, and will not be posted on any public sites. They are available to all tier 2 and up subscribers. 

The vote has concluded for 8/26, and it looks like we'll be getting a return to The Seven Secrets of Mr. Magpie with part 3 dropping on that day. Janus Coins and Morgana's Gift lost by one vote each, so I expect we'll be back around to those stories sooner or later.

Speaking of getting around to old stories, I've put Before The Storm 2 on the calendar for 9/2. I'm eager to get back to that story and the second chapter has been bubbling up inside of me for quite some time now, so I just dropped it on the calendar. We'll have another vote for tier 4s and up for what I'm writing on 9/9 that I'll drop next week sometime.
