Robert Inman

Dawn, this was (loosely) based on a real sci-fi book that was written as a serious commentary on society of the 50s-60s. The director went campy with it much like happened in the first tries at making "Dune" films. It's fun as an action film, but greatly distorted the original book. Many people disagreed with the political views of the author Robert Heinlein and overlay with their own.

Note to self...nakedness distracts...got it! Meanwhile, now I'm trying to imagine shooting a meteor out of my butt. Very conflicting visuals.

I was waiting one of them to say Tis but a scratch.

It has been a while since I seen this one, it was good rewatch. I have meet Casper Van Dien, Patrick Muldoon and Dina Meyer. Had them sign my laserdisc of the movie

I drive 2.5 hours to work. I listened to the full reaction. Hilarious! I knew where we were in the movie the whole time because of Dawn's comments. Great reaction.

Great reaction; you caught a lot of what was going on beyond the surface layer. I'm in my mid 60s, and was obsessed by WW2 growing up, so I identify with, and "got" what Paul Verhoeven was tring to do when he made this. Google "Starship Troopers Q&A | Paul Verhoeven & Casper Van Dien" and you can find out what Paul and the writer were thinking.
