This movie punched way above it's weight and was hugely influential. The subsequent films become more humorous and polished

Watched on Tubi, and there was an unfortunate ad for tub "caulk" right after the tree rape scene. Guy pitching it had a thick Chicago accent, and it was so disturbing it felt like it was part of the movie.

Ash is the name of the name of the last guy, played by Bruce Campbell. He will reprise his role as Ash in the 2nd one. It finds it footing in Horror Comedy in Evil Dead 2

For some reason it’s only available on AMC+ in Vegas. Strange.

A lot of people are confused and think Evil Dead 2 is somehow a remake of the first movie but it isn't. The trilogy of movies all run back to back like one long movie. The confusion comes from rights issues that forced Raimi to re shoot stuff for the recap bits so he couldn't show footage from the first movie in the second one.
