Dawn you are so full of shit!! I hope you, and dumb asses Sam Spade, & John Ruddick live happily ever after.

Chicago Artist Jon

There seems to someone posing as Dawn on the utube channel. DawnMarieTY. They’re trying to scam me for money or account info. It’s interesting but I’ll be blocking them soon.

Bill W

Hey Dawn, Gerald is played by Judge Reinhold who played police officer Billy Rosewood in Beverly Hills Cop, with Eddie Murphy. He and Phoebe Cates (Kate) previously starred together in Fast TImes At Ridgemont High (1982). The father is played by Hoyt Axton who was a songwriter and musician. He wrote songs that were hits for other artists, most notably "Joy To The World" and "Never Been To Spain" by Three Dog Night.

Bartleby

What’s the matter little princess? If you have an issue, here’s a tissue!

Kenton Kruger

It was Beverly Hills Cop that you recognized Banks from. I loved Gremlins 2, but it is a very different movie. I hope most people in the comments just leave it at that and don't spoil anything about it, even how it's different.

Louis Marzullo

Dawn, now you know what Rosemary's Baby looked like!

Bill W

Oh yeah, he was Maitland's tough guy. And Judge Reinhold too!

Kenton Kruger

Yeah she realized that at the end, just answering her question as to which movie she saw recently he was in.

Retro Maven

This is what would be classified as a "Dark Comedy", DM. I prefer the classics at Yuletide myself, but if it is Gremlins every year at the Dawn Marie household then so it is! I would like to point out the young actress Phoebe Cates who you have not seen yet. She married the actor Kevin Kline who you saw in A Fish Called Wanda and gave up acting in the early 90s to raise their children. And if you really want to know the alternate blue version of the 7 Dwarfs "Hi Ho" song IM me, I won't put it here!!

Louis Marzullo

There is one about going "off to school" with various weapons. Is that the one you know? Or is it a sex-type thing? (Any STP fans out there?)

Louis Marzullo

Dawn, I guess the closest you could get to a Mogwai would be a Pekingese but I know, allergies. They do have shots for that, though. But no needles, right? Now that would be the perfect thing for you to invent- a pill that really cured all pet allergies!

john ruddick

Your face when they reveal Gizmo for the first time just made my Christmas!!! 😍😘😇🤗 The cuteness has entered the fiber of your being!!! Now you understand!!! xxxx

john ruddick

I'm very happy you enjoyed watching it Dawn. I knew you would. The producer was Stephen Spielberg he made it around the same time as Temple of Doom and E.T. So when he was on a roll, the second film Gremlins 2 is good but different that's all I'm willing to say!!!! Merry Xmas to you and the whole family xxxx

Kenton Kruger

Oh, and you saying early on, how bad could this be rated PG; this and The Temple of Doom were the inspiration for adding the PG-13 rating in the States to give them an option between PG and R.

Bartleby

Dawn, there’s a joke in this movie that you’ll understand if you watch the movie “The Time Machine” (1960)

Ceryk

So when that drunk guy said gremlins took their planes down in the war, he didn't mean real ones. When a machine or piece of tech breaks down suddenly and for no real good reason at all (like being old and worn out) or for reasons they can't explain, people blame it on gremlins. Not sure if that is just a US thing or if it's world wide. I think it is less common of a saying now, definately heard it more when I was a kid.

Bartleby

Yeah it was a lore I heard and was aware of when I was a kid. That gremlins sabotaged machinery in WW2. There was this Bugs Bunny cartoon from 1943 entertaining this mythology. https://youtu.be/vJrwOXgOKxg?feature=shared People talk about another Gremlins movie from time to time. I’d much rather see the prequel that takes place in the war. A proper dark comedy war movie with the gremlins we know and love.

john ruddick

She can now watch "Shadow in the Clouds" and get the references in that.

Bill W

The British RAF shared in the gremlin folklore as well.

Chicago Artist Jon

MH blocked and reported. I'm not putting up with that cowardly racist bullshit.

Richard Stokes

Gremlins 2 is pretty funny Dawn I think you would like it, probably funnier than the original actually!

Bill W

How do you report someone who's not a creator? I didn't see an option for that. I googled and couldn't find anything either, nor any 'customer service' contact for Patreon. They're about as accessible as Youtube, Facebook or any of the others.

Chicago Artist Jon

I had to do it through the website my desktop computer. Couldn't figure it out on the app. Click on their name, click on the dot dot dot symbol and you get the option to block. Then you should have the option of reporting someone in the confirmation window. Took me a while to find that.

Bill W

Jon - ok, you have to block in order to be given the option to report.

Chicago Artist Jon

Yeah. You get a confirmation window and somewhere in there you should see a checkbox to also report when you block. IDK if it worked or not. Patreon's interface kinda sucks.

james flack

Louis, the Twilight Zone that traumatized me the most, as a kid, was the one about the little girl who rolled under the bed. And let's not even get started on "One Step Beyond".........🤔

Louis Marzullo

Great choices, James. I gotta go with "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder". It's the first episode of the show I ever saw, I was 9 or 10 & it was midnight (I had no set bedtime on Fri & Sat nites). I think we have another contender here for Dawn's next TV show reaction 😳

John Liebling

As long as we are suggesting TV episodes, I'd like to throw my hat in and suggest some episodes from You Bet Your Life. We all know how much Dawn loves the Marx Brothers, especially Groucho. There are some episodes with his brothers and a few more with his daughter Melinda. It would be a lot of fun to watcher her reaction to an older, but still feisty Groucho.

John Liebling

There was also a documentary about the Marx family, maybe she'd like that too.

Louis Marzullo

I visited the apt. building where they grew up, 179 E.93rd St., Manhattan. Just gazed at it from the outside for a few minutes. Still operating, people going in & out. There's also a beautiful, fenced-in playground nearby named after them. Soccer & baseball fields

Louis Marzullo

Feisty, yes. I think I've told this anecdote once before on this platform but there's a great season one Happy Days episode where Joanie begs to stay up late to watch Groucho give the "secret word". Mrs. C refuses because "Groucho can be a little too... suggestive" 😄

Michael Hartsell

Older than me you say. I use to watch the "Groucho Marx Show" live on our black & white TV when I was a kid. Be back shortly my friend.

Michael Hartsell

It's me again "badass" that's your new nickname, just so you know in the future when I reference it.

john ruddick

For TV shows obviously "Bottom", but I would also recommend "Red Dwarf" there are a lot of episodes but it would be a good watch as I'm sure you would enjoy it Dawn. We might have to pick out a few episodes in the later series's as there are a huge amount but season 1 is pretty good all the way through.
