I think your question about who killed Reyhiem was answered during the course of the episode. I answered your questions about Damrada up to this point last episode. I will let next episode begin to give you some answers about the Clergy's motives, before I fill in what's left out. You were right, it was the blonde guy was the one who realized they were being manipulated. Renard. They were still trying to convince the other Crusaders. Renard is second-in-command over the Crusaders. It was strange when the redhead (supposedly Garde) didn't obey his orders 2 episodes ago. When the Clergy arrived and said Hinata was out of line, the other Crusaders were unsure about who to believe, so they didn't know what to do for a bit.

Did I explain this before? Two episodes ago I didn't put in a comment so there are a couple of leftover subjects to cover. Holy Magic doesn't use magicules, it uses spiritual particles. But magicules are composed of spiritual particles. Monsters, as beings made up, in large part, of magicules, unfortunately it means that spiritual particles can disrupt or destroy them. There are certain criteria for being able to manipulate spiritual particles, i.e., use Holy magic. Belief in a being who can use them is a requirement, but that doesn't answer the question of how this works if you're at the top of the heap. Nevertheless, Luminus can use Holy magic. She used the Resurrection spell on Hinata. This will only work if the soul has not yet left the body. ............................................................................... So what was Raphael doing and why? Raphael used Beelzebub so it could analyze the nature of the attack, which was Holy Magic. Holy Magic is made up of pure spiritual particles. Magicules are made from spiritual particles. Raphael understands the behavior of magicules almost perfectly but she was still working on spiritual particles. She felt there was still enough unpredictability to how they behave that she was concerned that Absolute Defense (Guard) would not be absolute enough, even though the possible failure rate might be 0.001% or whatever. So she tricked Rimuru into using Beelzebub to intercept the energy so she could analyze it. Unfortunately, the stomach still wasn't able to handle so much holy energy at once, which destroyed the space it was being sent to. When Raphael said she backed it up, I think that means the data that describes the parameters of how the Skill functions. I imagine there are other Skills that can reform the stomach, which btw is now called Complex Space. So now Raphael had the data it needed to perfect the Absolute Defense (Guard) that is part of Uriel. That doesn't mean Rimuru can use Holy Magic, but he can now defend against it. ............................................................... Ultimate Skill Uriel, Lord of Vows is a Skill Rimuru gained when Raphael was finally able to analyze the Unlimited Imprisonment that sealed Veldora away. It looks like this Skill just popped in as a useful basket to hold a bunch of Skills that Raphael didn't know what else to do with. But this is an Ultimate Skill. Yeah, it means Rimuru's soul is strong. But it has to form from his desires, stronger ones than a Unique Skill would require. It represents the connections with his people, because it contains the optimization of the Skills he received from others with whom he has bonds. I think Rimuru's particularly strong connection with his people is central to his personality, so much so, that it formed an Ultimate Skill. But the other side of this Skill is, just what is Rimuru desirous of when he received thie Skill? We see why it's called a Lord of Vows, because of where the Skills come from, and because Rimuru named his people, and they pledge their loyalty in return. But what is the function of this Skill, in essence? Uriel's framework is spatial in nature, and that includes barriers. Uriel's main functions relate to Banishment, Transport, Offense, and Defense. But the strongest and most important of them is Defense. Why Defense, in a Skill representing his bonds with his people? Absolute Defense (Guard) is Rimuru's vow to protect his people. It's based on trust and respect.

Rimuru was a bit peeved with Raphael that it played around with his Skills without discussing it with him first. Raphael has detected a desire in Rimuru to learn about these spiritual particles, but she thought if she asked permission, Rimuru would have said no. Therefore she acted without asking. Raphael also learned to use Meltslash, which is basically Disintegration added to a sword. Rimuru said, just tell me next time. .................................................................................

Talking about Diablo's Skill for a moment. We already knew, because he used it before, that he has an Unique Skill called Tempter. He can gain control of a soul of someone who surrenders to him. That's what happened to Reyhiem, Razen, and the former King, Edmaris. It doesn't exactly mean he makes them do things, but he will know if they think about betraying him. He can keep track of their location, and if they die, he will obtain their soul. It's in the same category as Rimuru's Merciless, later incorporated into Beelzebub. Diablo used this function when dealing with the journalists, and he gained control over them by promising to protect them in return for them writing a story witnessing what they're seeing truthfully. Thus, a deal was made. But there are other parts of that Skill. ................................................................................ Despair world is an adaptation based on Diablo's Skill Tempter, which starts as a state of mind, progressing to an imaginary hopeless world, where he controls everything. He improved upon it so that it can switch it with the real world, and then destroy it. Demons, especially Primordials, have truly terrifying Skills.

When Hinata came to the Isekai, she heard Words of the World grant her Skills according to her desires. We know Usurper copies or steals Skills. The second Skill, Preserver, (first time I saw it called that, it is usually called Measurer or Mathematician), includes that Compute Prediction ability she has. It's related to logic overruling emotion in her life. Two episodes back Hinata was using this Skill to predict Rimuru's attacks. It looked like Rimuru suddenly was able to counteract this by gaining a new Skill. What really happened was this: Raphael is an Ultimate Skill based in large part on analytic calculations. After observing Hinata's Compute Predict Skill for a time, Raphael figured out how she was doing it, and being an Ultimate, could improve upon it. Thus, Predict Future Attack.

Mariabel Rozzo is someone who I can't explain very much yet. But her mention of greed is important.

Nicolaus used his medallion as a storage space for the Disintegration Skills. Most spells require long incantations, although some strong people have Skills that offset that such as Cast Cancel (no chant needed), and Thought Acceleration. Rimuru has both, plus Parallel Processing (some are part of Raphael). Humans don't usually have these Skills, so they must preload spells onto themselves or an object to reduce casting time.

The only thing I haven't yet explained between this and Episode 8 is about the aspects of Shion's Master Chef Skills, and how she used them. The two parts are Optimal Action and Perfect Outcome (or other names with the same meaning). Optimal Action allows Shion to find the exact way to attack something. For instance, if she finds a flaw in a piece or armor, she can continually attack that same flaw. Perfect Outcome means she can force reality to conform with her goals. The two work in tandem. That's why it's possible Shion could beat Rimuru, if her Skills happen to find a way through Rimuru's weaknesses. Rimuru is both stronger and his Skills "outrank" hers, so it'd be unlikely, but it's still possible, because she can alter reality. Predictive and analytic Skills are kind of the natural enemies of reality-bending, illogical Skills. It's not an automatic draw, but it depends on how well they are used.
