Chapter 29
“On stage?!” Jason freaked out. Was it real? Do they actually want him on stage? Mrs. Braxton actually wants him to be with her on stage? What for?
“Relax, you´re not going to give speech. You´ll be just… joining Ettie.” Mrs. Park said.
“But… but…” Can he get out of this?
“Nope, we´ve got five minutes. Let´s go!” And so, she shoved him off the floor and rushed back stage.
Jason freaked out. He´ll be in stage? In front of all these women? He can feel their eyes on him.
He´s not welcomed, he knows it. Women push men away as they age. Unless they are married, still, they divorce. It seems that the men are no longer at pair with them. They don´t meet their heights, quite literally.
Becoming more like a burden, unwelcomed in their new lifestyles. And it makes sense, why would you want to be with the same 6´ guy when you became a 9-feet-tall giantess? There´s a whole world in difference.
But, little does he know, this is kind of the main topic.
He was nervous, now on stage, Mrs. Braxton was giving her speech as he just sat there. On a chair in the middle of the stage. It wasn´t a big stage, for them, but to him, it was huge! And the nerves only made it seem bigger!
The public, dozens and dozens of women sitting there. Looking at her, most of the attention on Mrs. Braxton as she gave her speech; still, some of the eyes were on him.
Judging, criticizing, hating. He could feel their hate as he met their frowns. As he met their angry eyes, all of them looking at him. Of course, they were not furious or enraged, but he could tell they were upset; the kind of look someone gives to another when they don´t belong, when they are forbidden from coming in.
Of course, this was due to the nature of the event. He was the only man around; the only guy in this sea of giantesses. He chose not to pay attention to that, instead, he turned towards Mrs. Braxton. It´ll be easier if he pays attention to her speech…
“I´ve got a special announcement, but first, I´d like to start with that I know you´re all thinking about. Why is there a man sitting on stage?” That´s what all of them have been thinking about. Even if just for a moment.
“The answer´s simple. He´s my assistant. Now, this will lead to a second question, why would I, at my level, employ a man as my assistant? Why? If things are so much bigger, if everything at the office is meant to fit a woman my size. Why?” Everyone was waiting for the answer.
Even Jason, as he listened, wondered why. He´s been wondering that since the day he was first offer that position at the company. Now, it was time for the answer. One he´ll listen to, very carefully.
“The truth is… I´m tired of the way things have turned.” Her tone, denoting a certain disgust.
“Why do we, mature, gigantic women, always think less of men. Is it because of their size? No, it´s because of OUR size. As women, to say it some way, age, we keep growing. Our bodies keep expanding, one inch per year. But we not only become taller, but thicker. Bigger all over.” She said, speaking nothing but facts.
“Now, men don´t grow perpetually, they settle on a certain height. But even if the tallest man could stand at about seven-feet-tall, it´ll be just a matter of time for a woman to reach him, and soon, surpass him. Outgrow him. That´s why, from my point of view, women have become arrogant in that aspect.” The crowd sighed in anger. Jason could see as they all gossiped.
Then, he turned at Mrs. Braxton, it was obvious that no one liked what she said, still, she continued.
“Even now, I´m sure you think he should be kicked out of the building, I´m certain about that. But, do you want to know why that won´t happen? Well, it´s because of me. Does anyone here want to try and take him? But keep in mind, you´ll have to go over me first.” She was challenging the crowd. But, even a upset as most could be, no one dared take the challenge.
“Now, listen to what I´ll say. Let me talk to you about the… flaws of this new world.” She seemed so confident, so sure about what she was saying.
Mrs. Braxton was making every woman upset. Jason could see them in their faces, the way they frowned. He would´ve liked not to stare at this raging crowd. But he did, he looked at each of the faces of, at least, a couple dozen women. Most of them showed anger and disgust. However, some others didn´t.
Some seemed to be curious about what Mrs. Braxton was saying. Some paid attention. Of course, most of them had their eyes on him, their angry eyes on the man who shouldn´t be there in the first place.
“I´ve come a long way, and during all that time, I´ve seen things. I´ve noticed things. And one of them is, men are more frequently underestimated, or receive from least to no respect. And I´ve wondered, why is that? Simple, height! Women grow too much. As time goes on, women grow, year after year, one inch at a time. But men don´t. They reach a certain height and just stop there. Since women don´t, they often feel superior. Blessed with constant growth, and this leads to success. But why are men being left aside?” Basically, the reason for this is size. The fact that women slowly become giantesses, and that men don´t.
The new world´s full of women who just keep growing taller and taller. Thicker, sexier even. Mrs. Braxton is a woman of a mature age, and she´s still growing taller. Just like any other woman.
She´s seen the way things are, how large ladies just treat men like push-overs. Deep down, it hurts her to see it. Why can´t they all be equals? Just because there´s a seven, eight, or even nine feet tall woman next to a six-foot-tall man, that doesn´t give her the right to disrespect him.
“Men are mistreated, in the work environment, at home, anywhere! And I´m tired of it. My goal is to show everyone that things aren´t supposed to be that way. That it´s not a matter of who´s bigger, who´s taller, it´s a matter of seeing each other with respect.” To Jason, that sounds nice. And then, Mrs. Braxton shifted the topic a little.
“A chance, men like him deserve a chance. I went to the company, for the regular check-up, and what did I find? I found him, sitting alone at some forgotten room of the office. Did I feel bad? Of course! It was a copy room, let´s be real, do we need a room like that? Everything´s digital nowadays. There was no need to have him do that job. Then, why was he there? Simple, he was underestimated.” She thinks he´s capable of more? How sweet.
“And you know what else they need? Love! Mature women, when reaching a certain age, a certain height, they just reject men. And my question´s why? Because they have gotten too big? Too tall? Because they are so superior to men? Well, I´m 9´10” and I don´t see a problem with having a 5´10” man as my assistant. And I know what you think, “He´s too short”, “He´s too slow”, “His size will only slow us down”, well let me tell you, that´s not the problem. The problem is that women hate to see such a smaller being with the same authority. And I understand it, trust me, but I´d like to change that. Leave the whole size aside and just treat them with respect.” She stated, and Jason freaked out for a second.
Did she mean she loves him? Or that they are just an example of a healthy relationship at the office?
“And how will you do that? Huh? There´s no way a woman as big as us can see a man as small as an equal. We´re bigger, stronger, and smarter!” Some woman shouted from the crowd.
“Physically, sure, but what makes you think you´re smarter? Hmm? See? That´s my point, men are underestimated because of their size. Now, I knew someone would say something like that. That´s why I have an answer. A cure to this illness. You think women are only based on height? I think they become this way throughout the course of time. Thinking they have surpassed them, leave them behind. You want me to tell you what truly happens? You all leave men aside, that´s it. Reject them only because you all became too big, too tall. Too “successful”, well, is there actually success in being alone? I don´t think so.”
This was unexpected. And the speech kept going. Until she gave the big announcement.
“I´ve decided to run my own experiment. To prove it´s not the size, but the mentality. And how will I do so? Well, I can´t be the test subject, even if my criteria differ from most of yours. In order to prove this, we must start with someone who´s… closer to the height of an average man. And, how can we collect date fast? That´s where things get interesting…” He swallowed to Mrs. Braxton words.
“A growth serum! We´ll make a woman as large as myself, within a few months. To show you there can be harmony, respect between a, nearly, ten-foot-woman and this 5´10” man. And that it´s not just me and some others who think this way. To show you the world has been rotten on their way of thinking. Women should not, because they are much bigger, despise a man just because of their height.” A serum? A growth serum! Where was this going?
“I´ll pick someone, a woman, close to him, and will show you that the whole idea of men being inferior, it´s wrong. And that it´s us who created it. To prove that men deserve respect, attention, and most importantly, love. I´m sure most of you have been missing this from a long time ago.
Love? Was this all about love? Well, boundaries have been created between a woman the height of Mrs. Braxton and men like him. She´s so successful, and most men are no more than minions next to her. But, does that mean…
“We´ll show men that they should not be scared of us!” Mrs. Braxton said at last.
Could that be? Jason was kind of scared at first, intimidated. Is her goal to dismiss that?
Jason was confused. And a bit concerned.
Her main goal seems to create a healthy, respectful, and harmonical environment between gigantic women and men. That men shouldn´t be scared of a nearly ten-feet amazon of a woman. That women should be respectful, no matter how tall they are.
That, if you ask him, could be one of the things in this new world he´d like to change. However, there should be a reason why things are that way. Maybe it´s not only because of the way they treat each other, but because of the size.
For as much as Mrs. Braxton wants a better relationship between gigantic women and men, the truth is, a woman her size, can be quite imposing. Intimidating even.
But then, there´s this other thing she said. Love. What about it? Why is there a need to bring that topic to her speech? Does she mean that women no longer love men? That a giantess like her can´t love a man?
No, there´s something else, something beyond that. Even if he can´t see that, what she means is, a woman her size, she no longer received love from men. Too big, intimidating, too strict, making men afraid of her. What she meant, what she truly means is, love has been ruined for her, and the ones to blame are all those other giantesses who torment men.
There´s such an imbalance in height in this new world, that it´s hard not to feel that way.
Now, her main goal was that a woman like her needs love, but what did he get? What did he understand?
“Love? Coexist? And… me… am I… is she in love with me?” His heart skipped a beat. Was she? Was there a sign? All of the things she said, everything she implied, could it be that… she loves him?!
