Hello wonderful Patreon supporters. It has been an incredible several months since the launch of Foundry Virtual Tabletop, I am extremely appreciative of those of you who have chosen to continue supporting this project on Patreon - which provides me with both financial and emotional incentives to keep creating awesome new features and content for you. When I announced the restructuring of Patreon tiers that would occur after the software release in May, one of the perks which I promised to those of you who remained an active supporter at the Hero or Legend tiers were a collection of Foundry VTT game-ready battlemaps which can be immediately used in your games.

It's taken me several months to deal with competing proirities and get to the point that I am happy to release such a collection, but I'm very excited to share these maps with you now. "Atropos' Patreon Battlemaps Pack" is a module for Foundry Virtual Tabletop which currently contains 47 lovingly created fantasy-themed battlemaps which are painstakingly pre-configured with walls and light sources for your use in campaigns, one-shots, and more. I will be periodically (probably every 2 months or so) updating this pack with additional maps I create.

Details and Installation

To install the map pack, please paste the following manifest URL into the field at the bottom of the Module Installation menu: https://foundryvtt.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/modules/atropos-maps/module.json. Once the module is installed, activate it to access the maps inside the included compendium pack.

All maps are encoded as .webp files and are designed for use with a 100px square grid.

Map Index

This section provides an index and brief description of each map included in the pack. Please do not feel any obligation to use the maps as described and be creative in how you employ them for your own games. I have separated this index by thematic sections.

Dungeon Environments

Dragon Temple - Levels One and Two (2 parts)

The first level of an ancient temple to a draconic overlord. The upper level of this temple features an expansive symmetrical dungeon layout which progresses from South to North and leads players to the lower levels where an excavated cavern houses the remains of a once fearsome dragon.

Hidden Shrine I through IV (4 parts)

An ancient temple shrine which is now lost to the ages. (Part 1 of 4)

The Aeldspire (6 parts)

The Aeldspire is an ancient tower of a famous archmage which has been abandoned for centuries. Explores who dare to venture within tend to fall afoul of the mysterious and arcane hazards which roam these halls. This series of maps features an exterior scene which depicts the tower itself as well as a series of maps for the major floors of the spire. There are two main entrances - underwater beneath the lower docks in "Aeldspire Lower II", or through the warded and sealed front door which leads in to the foyer of "Aeldspire - Upper I". This spire features stately rooms, magical puzzles, spider infestations, horrifying laboratory experiments, a magnificent orrery, and much more!

Forest Environments

Druid Enclave

This great tree is the enclave of a druidic circle or an archfey which and can be used to represent the locus of power for a significant ally or enemy of the party, or even serve as a home base for the heroes themselves.

Forest Sinkole

A winding mountainous path traverses by a waterfall which has exposed a sinkhole at its base where the river disappears underground. This map is a companion to the "Forest Sinkhole Caverns" map which depicts the caverns beneath the waterfall.

Forest Sinkhole Caverns

The caves beneath the Forest Sinkhole are home to an exotic species of phosphorescent mushrooms which illuminate the darkness near the banks of this underground river. This map is designed to be used with the "Forest Sinkhole" map.

Jungle Cave

A serpentine cave cuts through a mountainous ridge in this lush jungle environment. Glowing crystals cast light upon the cavern walls. At one end of the cave system a strange portal leads to faraway places while mysterious steps at the other end descend towards adventure and mystery.

Jungle Temple

This massive wilderness map features the area around an aztec-style temple in the midst of a lush jungle. It could represent the entrance to the Hidden Shrine (parts 1 through 4).

Logging Camp

This logging encampment at the banks of a broad river is the base of operations for a logging company who is intent on harvesting the natural wealth of the forest.

Savage Clearing

Something terrible has happened here - the grisly remains of devoured creatures and humanoids are scattered in a pile in this forest glade outside the cave which has become the den of some fearsome predator.

Shadebough Falls and Shadebough Caverns (2 parts)

The bucolic and verdant town of Shadebough Falls is a refuge for travelers and an economic hub of trade in the depths of the great forest. This town holds many secrets, the most significant of which is found within the flooded caverns benath it's great tree.

WARNING: The Shadebough Falls map is very large: 12000px / 36MB, so it may be one to avoid depending on your hardware and network.

Elemental or Feywild Environments

Autumn Court

An outpost of the fey court of Autumn, this giant tree is transformed into a whimsical outpost.

Broken Canyons

A rugged and arid landscape of slot canyons and shattered plateaus. This map challenges your heroes with a labyrinthine maze from which they may never escape!

Burning Glade

Fires burn throughout this forest - a solitary glade stands encircled by raging flames. This scene could be set in the elemental plane of fire, or as the backdrop for a nightmare sequence.

Feywild Arena

This otherworldly arena serves as the stage upon which the Autumn and Winter fey play out their ritualistic combat at the turning of the seasons. Will the heroes participate as actors in this perpetual drama, allying themselves with one side or the other?

Gnarled Arbor

This golden-brown forest glade is whimsical and smells of decay and fallen leaves which swirl whimsically on the autumn breeze. This scene can represent an otherworldly location in the fey, or a sleepy enchanted forest in the midst of Autumn.

Hellgate Chasm

Magma spews forth from vents in the base of this canyon as a river of lava turns the area into a blast furnace. Mysterious portals glow with otherworldly energy, ushering forth denizens of the abyss.

Windswept Eyrie

Thousands of feet above the forest canopy below these floating islands are home to some of the most dangerous birds of prey. Will the heroes risk near-certain death in order to recover the treasures of the eyrie?

Urban Environments

Chasm Fortress

A fortified encampment at the edge of a chasm, a river of molten lava flows at the base of the canyon far below.

City Alleys

This scene of tightly packed alleyways is a perfect place to ambush your party as they travel through an urban environment.

City Courtyard

A versatile urban environment that could be used for a variety of encounters ranging from combat, social challenges, or shopping.

City Houses

An urban neighborhood with an open courtyard which can be the center-piece for an important event that happens in a town or city.

Council Chambers

A stately hall and amphitheater where powerful elite of a city scheme or engage in political discourse.

Cultist Hideout

The ruins of this old church - and the catacombs beneath it have become the hideout of a nefarious cult. This map is designed to be used in partnership with the Old City Alleyways map which depicts the exterior of the church.

Halls of Veneration

These luxurious halls could represent a temple or a seat of political power within a city.

Menagerie Exterior and Interior (2 parts)

The circus has arrived in town! Your players will be awestruck by the vibrant menagerie and it's multitude of tents which house sights, sounds, and smells like your heroes have never experienced before. The interior map represents the inside of the central tent where city-dwellers gather to revel in the latest attractions.

Old City Alleyways

This ramshackle district of slums is a dangerous area to wander into without knowledge or protection. These alleys are ruled by the local crime lords and they do not suffer visitors unless those visitors come heavily laden with coin. A burned out and abandoned church is the focal point of the district - where a malign cult has now taken up residence. See the "Cultist Hideout" map for the interior.

Old City Sewers

Every city needs a sewer, and this one winds its way beneath the Old City district with strange culverts and cisterns for your adventurers to explore. As drawn, this map connects to both the "Old City Alleyways" and "Cultist Hideout" maps.

Sky Docks

You step off the airship and the bustling atmosphere of the Sky Docks assails your senses with rich smells of saffron and cinnamon, sights of exotic street performers, and the cries of buskers and hawkers selling exotic wares from far-away realms. The sky docks is a wondrous and overwhelming place, teeming with life and with opportunity for those with enterprising ambition. The opulent wealth of the Sky Docks' trademasters is displayed for all to see in stark contrast to the soot smeared faces of the dock workers and street urchins who overrun this crowded warren of iron-laid streets. Visitors to this district should be equally wary of both - as the swiftest ways to disappear in the Sky Docks are beneath the pocket shivs of the local gangs or by the silent command of the Sheikhs. Be courteous and cautious - and you will find these warrens to offer a rich bounty. Be brash or reckless and your body shall plummet to the earth far below.

Sun Lord Temple

This holy place of worship featrues an opulent central chapel above-ground as well as a complex of cloisters and cells below where the prists of this sun-god's holy order dwell and practice their worship. The exterior of this building is depicted in the accompanying "Temple District" map.

Temple District

The streets of this district are safe, clean clean, and well guarded while a lazy canal bisects the area. In the center of this neighborhood stands the domed structure where adherants of the Sun Lord heed the morning call to worship.

Winter or Tundra Environments

Frozen Campsite

A small cave tucked away on a rocky shelf overlooking a snow-covered valley provides small comfort and shelter from the blizzard which rages outside in the mountain pass.

Frozen Falls

This waterfall and the pond at its base have frozen solid in the depths of winter. The trail follows several switchbacks as it descends beside the falls.

Frozen Pass

A road winds its way through a rugged mountain pass at the base of a gulley between two steep peaks. A tree has fallen in the middle of the road under the weight of the snow and ice. Could this be trouble?

Ice River Bridge

The river is not quite frozen over - and this old stone bridge represents the only safe crossing for miles. The bridge is fortified with small gatehouses on either side and represents a key strategic fortification in this winter region.
