1) Billing made simple

The majority of Patreon creators are using subscription billing as a simpler way to bill members. Creators using this billing method often see higher earnings and member retention.

Creators who switch to subscription billing get exclusive access to free trials and will soon have the ability to change the price of their tiers - plus, other new benefits rolling out this year.

2) What this means for you:

You currently charge new members when they join, and then again on the first of each month. This means new members who join near the end of the month get charged twice back-to-back, which is an unexpected experience.

With subscription billing, new members are charged monthly on their signup date, just like they expect from other subscriptions. This means you can promote your Patreon throughout the month without new members feeling double-charged.

Here’s how it works:

  • New members are charged at signup, and monthly on that same date.

  • Your existing members won't experience any changes. They’re still charged on the first of each month.

  • Your payout schedule and account balance don’t change, and you can still opt to receive an automatic payout on the 5th (or manually withdraw a lump sum each month).

I received an e-mail regarding this, what do you all think about it :O ?
