Dude of course Mask of the Phantasm is better. That is a theatrical released film with a 6 million dollar budget. This was a straight to DVD adaptation of a monumental graphic novel by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli. Many of the things that happened in Mask of the Phantasm stuff was directly inspired by the Year One graphic novel.

Also, the scene where the bats come in and swarm that area so that batman can escape.. Nolan did the same thing in Batman Begins if you remember
