HOW DID IT TAKE ME AN HOUR TO WATCH THESE 5 PERFORMANCES??? HELLO????

Jessi

RTK makes me emotional. Before this, The Boyz were always treated like shit and often looked down on by others because they’re from a “small” company. It’s the sad reality of Kpop. And look where they are now. They’re one of the most popular 4th gen boy group in S.Korea. Their popularity overseas is not even 1/3 of their popularity in Korea so I wish people could stop see them as “underrated” because they’re really not. They’re for sure “under-appreciated.” Kevin once said: “The objective of playing chess is not to eliminate the other King piece but to create a situation where the opponent realize they have no chance to win and to accept the victor’s moves, creating a checkmate.” Their goal was to not make other teams lose but to make them accept who they are. This is why they deserved to win Kingdom too and it’s not from a biased perspective. All groups did but The Boyz especially worked their ass off to get to where they’re now. They had zero privilege.

I always thought there’s a difference between a dancer and a “center.” Like not all main dancers get to be the center of a performance because a member who out stands usually get it. But Juyeon and Q are one of the few idols that can do both. I hate when people try to compare them. They have really distinct dancing styles so it’s more of which you prefer rather than who is better. I’d love to see them in Mix & Max.

the dance practices for this are so fun to watch

Sorry I’m commenting sooo much, it’s not okay. I always wanted to tell you that the lyrics for REVEAL is about Moon orbiting the Earth. “I’m down for your love” has two meanings: 1). They’re down to Earth to do anything. 2). They go down when the Sun comes out. They also sing, “I’m the Sun that rises during your night.” The Moon doesn’t get any attention because the Earth usually sleeps during the night time. So they’re always jealous of the Sun. “I’ll hide myself in the darkness and I’ll wait for you.” 🥹 Moon: The Boyz Earth: A person they’re in love with. Sun: A person the “Earth” is in love with.

I don’t know how to express how happy I was when I saw this rewatch reaction came out this morning. I remember when I rewatched these performances after I could totally recognized all the members, it gave me different feelings. I found more details every time I rewatched these performances because they were so complicated. However they did wonderful story telling at the same time. My favorite one from RTK is probably Quasi una fantasia cause I love contemporary dance and they just blended it into it so well. I felt like the performances from KINGDOM was kind of hard to understand, and after I saw someone’s analysis I found that is because it’s super complicated. Like they even played different roles in Game Of Thrones without mentioned who is who and the order of story is different from the order of performances. Maybe it’ll be more easier to get the story if you’ve watched Game Of Thrones, and I haven't🥲 It’s a bit unfortunate that perhaps some people couldn’t get the amazing story, but there’s no doubt that those performances are still fantastic✨ Thank you for giving me a such wonderful beginning of a day, have a nice day💛

Their RTK stages are just incredible. Every so often I go back and rewatch all of their RTK performances, and even after so many viewings, I still get wowed each and every single time. Personally, I liked their RTK stages so much because each performance is a self-contained story with a very clear plotline that didn't require you to carry out deep analysis, and the overarching theme was not too overpowering and at the expense of the individual story and simply provided the connective thread between each stage. I also echo the recommendation that you should react to their dance practices for the RTK stages. They're more than just dance practices, and you really get to see how they worked so hard behind the scenes to deliver these phenomenal stages. If you want more RTK-related content to watch/react, they also have To.Mate (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B5N8e-QWzo), where each member candidly shared their thoughts about one other member for their RTK journey.

2023-01-02 00:30:26 I'm so glad you did these 🥺 (also if you rewatch Heroine in a separate vid we wouldn't mind! hehe) I've rewatched these a few times but am still blown away with each time, and I still tear up thinking about them (JOHAN when you teared up during Quasi una Fantasia so did I 💔) I'm just so proud of them, and even though just like you I found them through RTK (we must have watched them around the same time, I wasn't a patron but I also watched them between The Stealer & Breaking Dawn) I'm just so grateful to have found them and to have found other TheB's who appreciate the artistry of their stages 🥺 I still honestly can't pick a favorite stage but I love how they are all different, they all highlight so many members each time, and how hard they all worked on these. Definitely check out the behind-the-scenes practice videos! They're not regular dance practices -- they break down the difficulty of the moves, the staging process and the rehearsals, and there are so many cute & fun moments they have (that were probably on some of those jellykims compilations!). You'll love it! (personally cried again seeing how some really tough moves were scary, esp for Sunwoo...but it makes you appreciate & respect them so much more) 💙

Here's a fun fact about the Reveal: Catching Fire performance, Juyeon actually mentioned that he had messed up at the end there, because he wasn't supposed to fall like that when taking the crown back and he was so upset about it. And I'm just feeling so bad for him cause he was upset, my only thought was "you poor baby its fine, we couldn't even tell." And during Quasi una Fantasia, there was another branch he was supposed to have but he couldn't find it, which is why he was so upset after the performance. Even Jacob commented that he almost couldn't find his own branch in time.
