THE CREATIVITY! THE ARTISTRY! THE UNIQUENESS! Thank you so much everyone for letting me know about the interludes, it would have been A TRAGEDY to do this first listen without them included. I love what they added between the songs, especially because some of OOO's songs are on the more experimental side so the instrumental tracks felt like a little room to breathe and process, if that makes sense. But more than anything it just gave the albums more life and depth, especially since there're no more than 4 songs on each.

Also, didn't really hate looking at the concept photos as I was making the thumbnail 🌝 Had to include two of NINE for obvious reasons and LOVE just because I could! And as mentioned - I have more OOO content coming soon!

HOPE YOU LIKE IT 💙 LOVE YOU ALL

They're so awesome. Yes, please do Suit Dance's performance version, there's a Japanese version video of chrOme arts that's a performance video, then there's the Korean version that's the choreography (don't miss this). If you haven't seen it, skinz's dance practice was um... bare. :D I feel like they just make music for the love of music and experimentation and saying things other groups don't have the courage to say. Loving Nine feels like it's required. He's not even my bias (Yoojung), and I still adore him. He's done a lot of little solo projects and covers for their channel. I loved his early Daisy for being cute as hell. KB and JunJi covered Conan gray's Heather (amazing). And as you know, they've covered lots of choreo as a group, including Rie covering boy groups, and Yoojung covering girl groups. Yes, please. There was no explanation for Love's departure. It shocked us as lyOns, and made us sad. I feel like it had something to do with all the gayness, but I want to hope not, and I hope we'll see him make some sort of triumphant (or even quiet) return to the music scene, because he's talented AF.

i saw a commenter talk about love's departure and i'd like to clarify, there is absolutely NO indicator that love left bc of any queerness related reasons!! it's widely accepted in the fandom that he was kicked out against his wishes. there's a lot that happened back then but i'll try to give a very short summary of the most important points: just days before the notice was posted he was still on bubble talking about working out to look good for fans, that's not something you say if you plan on leaving the company had done very shady and bad things before (mill's hiatus where the company made him shave his head as a punishment, less than a year prior to love leaving, also for unknown reasons) and they tried their HARDEST to cover up the love situation, they only posted the notice about him leaving on fancafe (a space only a few fans have access too) and only in korean, a vast majority of fans and casual listeners found out through other fans a woman that had been working closely with ooo and jaden for many years also left the company shortly after and posted on instagram "all seven are angels" ximon, a rapper who trained with ooo and still works with them and is a very close friend as well as a known ally seems to be on good terms with love still seeing as he interacts with posts about him and even published songs with his background vocals on it after he had already left (which 8d forced him to take down an publish again without love) all in all it's safe to say that everyone who personally knows love treasures him dearly while a very shady company has tried everything to cover up whatever happened (they did a lot more than i mentioned here) so please please please stop making negative assumptions about him! we all miss him dearly! <3 also just in case someone thinks he might've been kicked out for dating: ooo have been free to date the entire time and just in case someone is curious: last we heard of love was that he had enlisted in the military and presumably is still there (also his name is pronounced like the english word ^^)

there are descriptions explaining all the songs under the libido and skinz mvs on youtube if you're interested! tear of god is indeed about religious guilt ^^ also because you were talking about wanting songs explicitly about a man, there's two ooo songs that are about men/masculine people! the first one is suit dance, which you heard on instinct pt2! nine wrote all the lyrics. it's about two people wearing suits (so two masculine presenting people) and nine said when he was stuck writing the lyrics on the bridge kyubin told him to "imagine junji unbuttoning his shirt" and that apparently immediately helped lmao the lyrics in said part are "unbuttoning the tight shirt and softly brushing your hand like brushing past the lapel" the other song is a japanese bside called ヒドい男 (hidoi otoko/awful man) it's the partner song of zurui onna (cheating woman). zurui onna is about a bad female partner and hidoi otoko is about a bad male partner. the lyrics in the chorus go like "let's come together more, more even if everything is just a lie, touch me let's blend together just like this i want to melt into you "stay by my side forever and ever" my words fall on deaf ears, what an awful guy when i feel you are finally going to be mine you go and leave me smoothly just like a wave"

I feel the need to explain that the point of the instinct part 1 album was to showcase a journey of sexual liberation for the protagonist that doesn’t pigeonhole itself into anything, it’s widely believed they went for a more bi protagonist because it would give anyone regardless of sexuality something to identify with in their own way. (visuals show attraction to the same sex n the lyrics give space for opposite attraction) so it wasn’t really a “censorship” thing more than an accessibility thing. In the end It’s about instinct and figuring out your desires and not only indulging them but also accepting them as your human nature. Though the beauty of onlyoneof is that you’re allowed to interpret their work as you want as long as you don’t ignore the canon, so in that sense if you want to read it in a more queer way feel free!

As for where to go, performance based I recommend looking into their rearranged covers! Malamente and Sherlock, don’t start now for dance only are really good! But they also have a few where they rearranged the song aswell like ‘money’ and rollin’!, members also have solo covers, nine released a lot of rearranged vocal covers and most of the members have something you can look into! (Yoojung recently did an all generations girl group dance medley for example) so whatever is your speed! Music wise though, once you feel like listening to an album again I recommend going in chronological order! If you like theorizing you should know that onlyoneof have a structural universe model, which in the most simple way means that all the music they make is connected and builds on each other. This means songs from new albums can for example lyrically, thematically or sonically refer to an older song to expand on the narrative/storytelling. A great example of this is Picasso, dOra maar, byredo and nabi all being connected thematically and referencing each other despite being on 4 different albums. I think chronologically exploring their discography would be the easiest way to digest everything, though there’s nothing wrong with just enjoying songs without thinking about the larger lore if that’s what you prefer!

oh i completely forgot but back when the song titles for instinct part 2 were released a lot of fans were kinda confused at snapchat and from what i remember a lyon said that in korea snapchat is often used by queer people kind of as a hookup/dating app? i'm not korean so i can neither confirm nor deny but this has kind of been accepted as the explanation in the fandom
