Nudity In Art (Patreon)

There is such a negative association with nudity in our culture and many others. I have struggled myself with how to keep my work art and not porn. Especially when it comes to photographing my wife. The internet is flooded with content claiming to be art. Nude Art should inspire feelings and emotions but also bring with it a certain degree of thought and effort. The human body I believe is one of the most fundamental art forms and should inspire feelings however there is a line that when crossed cheapens the work. The problem is that line is different for different people. I despise having restrictions when it comes to making art, as long as everyone is respected.

Beauty and the body fades away. I have been hired by so many clients wanting to capture their form as it is. Husbands have asked me to photograph their wives, women have hired me for boudoir and even nude sessions. They all have said something along the lines of "I want to capture this moment, or I am only this young once."

My wife has always captured my eye. She hated when I would disrupt her Saturday to try and do a photoshoot using a sheet as a backdrop and a window for light, but after a while she realized my intent and my passion. We grew together in skill, and passion for making art. Not just nude art but all genres. To me she was and is beautiful. She has inspired my body of work as a central figure. After every shoot we did, I would ask her if she would pose nude. 

Below is a shoot we did for a commercial project back in 2018. I was photographing this beautiful dress for a designer. However, the true beauty was what was the woman (my wife) wearing the dress. Why is a dress needed to feel beautiful?
