Isn't it really interesting that the solo tracks are paired this way?

It may not seem obvious at first, but if you look closely, both Hyunjin's So Good as well as Changbin's Ultra is focused on the performance more than anything else, at least for the MV (despite Changbin's track being a bit more narrative at first glance).

And with that, I.N and Seungmin's songs are more personal (Seungmin with his baseball career, and I.N with his overall image within the group and trying to break free), and Felix & Han both emphasize the fictitious storylines often found in MVs that ultimately reflect their true feelings as artists and celebrities. Heck, even Bang Chan and Lee Know pair makes sense because they put the most weight on the within-MV narrative, packing tons of details and visual ideas in their music videos.

It's really cool how that happened—planned or not, or maybe even a mix of the two, whatever the case is.

But I digress. What did YOU think about this episode of SKZ Player Making Film?! Let us know, and we'll be back with the last episode next week :D

Enjoy <3

Interesting to read your thoughts on the similarities between each pairing~ But coincidence with their concepts or not, they are also in reverse age order which is how their MVs were released too!!

Oh goodness! I have so many things to watch when I get home. Okay I'm home. I finished watching the other making film and now we're here. Han-C, that is adorable that you've been obsessed with hallucination ever since you listened to it. They shot this all in November, December. At least that's what the music video said when it premiered at the bottom left. Lol I would be into making Hyunjin laugh as well. I really want one of those massage guns. I love this second outfit so much. I wonder what kind of glue they use to keep the fake piercings on their skin. It's interesting that Binnie's shoot was more of the small intricate details being shown. Not baby shots 😂. Han-C yelling babies while binnie does the body rolls is taking me out. Yes the dance is so good. This video and song was definitely very performance heavy which is shocking from Binnie but we knew he could do it. He said that he came up with one or two eight counts that were important and he learned the rest from the choreographer. The moment of realization is crazy. I thought it was very interesting to watch these two videos be made. Main dancer Binnie 😹. Lol not you joshing him for accidentally turning off his mic. Everyone makes mistakes. Oh my God this outro music. What in the heck 🤣.

I think they just did them in reverse age order. Stray Kids often does things with double meaning, so maybe there were other thoughts for the pairing.

Well Changbin did start out wanting to be a dancer. And there is the famous National Geographic interview with Lee Know, where he says he wants to be a singer. So DanceRacha and VocalRacha should really be an option

Tristana Keauna

Well we know from the INTRO that Changbin came up with at least part of the dance himself in the shower haha. (if I'm remembering correctly). I loved seeing Hyunjin interacting with the dancers. And all of the little details in Changbin's video that I didn't notice while watching the MV. They both did excellent!

I was thinking it was just released in youngest to oldest, but now that you've said about the pairings being similar, I can totally see that it could be a thing! I can understand why Changbins was also basically a performance video, as he said it was made for the stage, without lots of meaning behind it (and I'd say the same for Hyunjin).

I had not thought of the pairings, or if that was something that was done deliberately. It just made sense to me that they went in reverse age order. There might be something to it, though. I adore how they all keep missing eachother. SKZ needs to be in pile to thrive, lol Hyunjin's just mesmerising, as always. I have nothing to add. Changbin did start out as a dancer. He was the leader of his dance club in High school and there are fancams of him from the preformances they did. It was only after becoming a trainee that he started singing lessons, and his vocal coach then suggeated that he try rap because of his diction. He also said in the Intro to HOP, that he created parts of the Ultra choreo while in the shower. I don't really know what to do with that piece of information, but I do agree that it is vital that we know this. I cannot wait for you to check out the last one! (Unrelated to Changbin and Hyunjin, but because you were talking about danceracha and choreography, and as you will be going into the LeeKnow/Chan video next; have you seen the latest dance challenges that LeeKnow posted? He has posted 3 Walkin on Water challenges in the last couple of days, one with Vata of We Dem Boys, one with Bada of Team BEBE, and one with the two of them together. Now, they are both renowned professional dancers and choreographers in teams that have choreographed for Stray Kids on several occations, but the real significance here? They're both from Cupcakes crew, the dance crew that LeeKnow was a part of and also participated in World of Dance with, back in '16. They're the big guns and he's their maknae(at least he was for some time). Had he not become an idol, he would most likely, according to himself, still be dancing with them. He was already a professional dancer before becoming a trainee. That gave the 'Chan with YoungK' -feels all over again *sniffles*)

tl;dr So Good Choreo by: MOTF, Rimmo (JYPE) Directed by: SWISHER (Lee Hyesu, Hong Jaehwan) Ultra Choreo by: Rimmo (JYPE), Eun Hangi (JYPE), HULK (Team I Am) Directed by: woonghui Sim Kyujin is the primary performance director for SKZ and generally spearheads a lot of the collaboration with choreographers. He has been with SKZ since very early in their career and is seen in a lot of content. Yoo Kwang-yeol was also a regular performance director but he just left JYPE at the end of 2024. The collective of in-house choreo staff are called JYP Performance Directing Lab. Go Good was choreographed primarily by MOTF (Men of the Future) and Rimmo (JYPE). Beom Kim and Riri of MOTF have been SKZ main choreographers since Double Knot/Levanter era. They especially like working with Hyunjin on his solo projects (AOTM, Mic & Brush, solo stages like the one at MAMA 2021). Music video was directed by SWISHER who also worked on Get Lit M/V. Ultra was primarily choreographer by Rimmo and Eun Hangi (JYPE) and HULK of Team I Am. HULK also worked on GIANT and Lalalala choreography. Changbin is unofficially credited but most likely gave his feedback to the JYPE team to incorporate into the choreography. This seems to be a common trend that SKZ members will give feedback/suggestions to staff to include in final drafts. Music video was directed by woonghui. They don't have any previous working credits with SKZ but they have worked with Xdinary Heroes and NMIXX before.

I just noticed by watching with you the dancers in Ultra are also in Youth. I need to go back to see if there were different dancers with hyunjin. The dancers in those MV are also the dancers that are on tour with them. I love that.

Zesti

Oh, it's the same dancers for all of them. If you watch the Stages, they change outfits, but it's the same dancers for all 8 performances.

Zesti

It made my heart so happy to see him dancing so happily with his former teammates.

lillie450

I just assume the pairing are because it goes in age order (youngest to oldest)

J.A. Moore

Changbin didn't specifically choreograph anything himself, but he did have some ideas and input when the choreo was being created for ULTRA. This short video shows him discussing it: https://www.facebook.com/reel/888642083457823

LK was SO happy to dance with Vata and Bada Lee again. Just the look on his face made me smile.

Coco Nies

My heart melted seeing him dance with them! Also he was being so tiny around them and it was adorable 😍

EL Knox

Yeah... I love how in the Intro Video, Changbin said there were moves he came up with in the shower which the choreographers agreed to incorporate... I mean I can't be the only one who thinks of that everytime I hear Ultra! 🤣
